I feel like I have been challenged in the writing area. I am learning new skills and being pushed as a writer. For example I have learned how to properly insert quotes and cite them in essays. This semester has not been hard for me but it has also not been easy. I feel this has been very good and I’m learning at a good pace and level. I am very satisfied with my experiences in this class as a writer. I have learned a lot including the structure of how essays and papers should be, more about MLA format, and new, more advanced transition words. I feel like the information I learned in this class I will carry on to future classes and life.

I developed these skills by in class learning and working and homework essays. For example, in this piece of my essay I said “This boy had goals to get in touch with nature and away from everything else; McCandless had similar goals”. Before this I had a comma instead of the semicolon which is a comma splice. Another example of the progress i have made during the year so far is “McCandless stated, “Don't settle down and sit in one place. Move around be nomadic, make each day a new horizon” (58)”. This is the right way to cite a quote and I didn't know that last year. Lastly one of my conclusion paragraph shows my improvement because I incorporated my introduction paragraph in it “ Overall, McCandless set out originally to find himself through experiencing nature and all the world had to offer. Like the young boy, throughout the adventures
