Senior Year Essay
As I started senior year, I had high hopes of defeating my two headed personal dragon, procrastination and disorganization. I had well thought out plans on how to annihilate this nefarious beast, however, I forgot to factor in a huge part of senior year- senioritis. Senioritis has not only made it impossible to defeat my dragon, it has made it preposterous to even care. Frankly, I am not disappointed in myself. Although triumphing over my dragons would have been astonishing, I am completely satisfied with the amount of work I have been able to accomplish, not only during senior year but throughout all of highschool. Although almost always procrastinated, I can confidently say I worked hard during the past four years. I have learned heaps of new information and I am beyond excited to continue my education at New York University, where I will hopefully slay my procrastination dragon. However, if I am never able to assassinate this dragon, I will continue to be a strong, independent woman who has a bright future ahead. …show more content…
Hopefully moving to another room will help me organize my belongings and keep them that way; however, I am still hoping for a future roommate who will not mind a little mess. Once I rid myself of senioritis, I plan to attack my current room and keep it as clean as possible for the next few months that I will reside in at home.
Every person has their downfall, and that is okay. No one is perfect, and I have been able to accept this and focus on the positive aspects of my life. Senior year was full of fun memories, as well as lazy moments. Whatever happens with my dragons and I, I will forever be proud of my high school

Senioritis: a common illness that is said to strike high schools across the nation and stand as an excuse for plummeting grades from the senior class. It is believed that seniors become incredibly antsy their last year of high school and are looking into the future for a solution to their bored life. Seniors also begin to question whether the classes they are taking are meaningful or not, while sloughing off the tension that comes with high school because they have been there four years and know the ropes. Not all seniors are sucked into this mindset, and many continue to further their academic success throughout their senior year. “Senioritis” brings up all of these points, but does not effectively support the points made.…

Senioritis—a condition that causes college seniors to experience severe apathy, laziness, and an overwhelming desire to fast forward to graduation. For most, this disease strikes during the senior year of college, but for me, I had to experience this ailment a year early. Why? Because I, along with several classmates, took my senior capstone course during my junior year. I was a nervous wreck when I realized I’d have to complete my capstone—the culmination of everything I’d learned in the Professional Writing program—a year before I’d actually graduate. I’d watched senior friends of mine suffer and struggle through their capstone classes with their copious amounts of reading, writing, and research, so I knew what awaited me.…

Being a junior in high school has its perks: I have more high school experience, I earn more freedoms as I get older, and I am only a year away from graduation. Once you are a senior in high school, there comes a point where the glorified “disease” senioritis comes into the picture. Senioritis is the lack of care people give for school work and grades when one becomes a senior in high school. It’s basically just procrastination to the fullest effect. Some people claim that the disease started back in freshman year, but in reality those people are just really lazy. I believe that people get senioritis when they feel that they don’t need to keep on learning. I believe that the school system kills the drive for students to excel anymore than they have to.…

The senior project was a challenge simply because the type of research needed was foreign for me. I had researched a few things in past courses but never like this. This project showed me I am not as disciplined as I once was. The senior project has been a revealing process, too. Both in identifying weaknesses as well as strengths. The skill set for attention to detail had gone lax, for me. Which was an area where I could be more attentive. Although, those are areas where I am somewhat weak. I also noticed my strength in assessing the important aspects of an article and then utilizing the information in my writing.…

Senior year was my most arduous year through high school; it demanded complete focus, dedication, and most importantly, my time. I was taking advanced classes such as: Calculus, Physics, and College Level English. It was challenging for me to fulfill my duties as a National Honor Society President, and at the same time, trying to excel in these classes in order to maintain my academic standard. It was difficult because I was ranked number one for our senior class of 2015, and I needed to maintain that rank as there were other bright and smart students in our class. However, I set goals for myself throughout the school year and strategically planned it so that I had my priorities in line. Careful planning, together with the support and help…
