traits, and general facts about the Shih Tzu.
The genetic relationship between dogs and wolves are way closer than owners suspect. One of their relationships are their similar characteristics. One of their similar characteristics are how the dogs and wolves both shift their ears back when they hear a noise or if a predator comes close enough to hear ( they do this to show submission) . When they hear an odd noise or see a movement they will most likely move their ears back to try to listen for movement noises as in foot steps and branches moving. They are also alike because the both have a very good sense of smell. Even though dogs and wolves are a different type of species, they belong to the same genus as wolves and DNA from all dogs is over 99% which proves they are from wolves. Also, even though the animals were wild the people created close relationships such as treating the wolves and dogs with respect and feeding them meat and other types of food, that is how they created their strong relationships with the animal. In return for feeding these animals humans found that these early dogs made good alarm systems and great hunting partners.Because of the way that the dogs act today the people from back then obviously did a great job on trying to domesticate these animals now known as dogs.
Dog breeding can be a sensitive issue.
Selective breeding is the exact opposite of natural selection, and it completely disrupts the purpose of evolution. The selective breeding of certain traits wanted by humans in this dog breed is evidence to evolution, because of the changes over time. As the time goes on, the breeds we selected can go on with worsening effects to the breed of the dog. As Darwin proposed, with given enough time the forces of natural selection could change the traits of species. The negative consequences of selective breeding can have major effects on the dog breeds such as breathing, heart failures, food allergies, birth effects and much more. Some of the consequences of selective breeding could be, that the problems that either of the parents had could go down into the next generations and get worse as the generations grow. Some common effects are more like behavioral problems. Some odd effects can be like loss of their smell and loss of their eyesight.
