Second, youth are now becoming exposed more frequently to specific issues that may not be appropriate for their age group, and are causing young women to sexualize themselves, their norms and behaviours at a younger age. For example: in today’s society, more young women are learning how to use make up at a younger age, causing them to look older than they are. As well, television shows that these young adolescents watch expose them to sexual content and these young people feel if they are mature enough to watch it, why not learn to do it as well. Correspondingly, there has been this moral panic around younger women becoming more sexual and promiscuous at a younger age due in large part to the advertisements and messages in the media that show these…
In WASHINGTON, D.C. activists were speaking out and marching for civil rights. John Lewis released a trilogy of graphic novels that tells his story during the March. Part of the story is Lewis' involvement in the civil rights movement, an effort for racial equality. In 1954 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that segregation was unconstitutional. Civil rights activists wanted to create one loud voice that would be heard everywhere. At Lincoln Memorial, activists gathered and rallied…
Lewis died as a young man during the peak of his fame, but how exactly did he die? Lewis was an explorer and governor of the state of Louisiana at the time. He went on the Lewis and Clark Expedition and was Jefferson’s right-hand man, helping him prove Congress wrong, saying that they should’ve bought Louisiana for economic and other purposes. As for his death, historians have claimed that he committed suicide while at Grinder’s Stand for over 200 years. However, as we now look back, there are many holes in this claim. Lewis was a superstar back in the day, but he also had struggles and enemies of his own. Lewis died by murder by conspiracy.…
