Short Stereotypes

Most people think short people can’t play sports just because of their height, but really short athletes are sometimes better than the taller ones. Stereotypes are how people think of a group of people just by the appearance of them. Stereotyping is a common thing a lot of people do, it’s kind of an instant reaction to stereotype a group when they’re seen in public or in school. A misconception is thinking one group does or doesn’t do certain things just because of appearance. Nobody really takes the time to get the know the groups they stereotype because they only want to see the one way. Being hard headed about only seeing a person one way can close off your brain to only see what you want to, not what’s really there. Knowing that someone won’t take the time to see if the misconception is true or not is upsetting because that person will always be seen as what they’re not. Misconceptions aren’t easy to see because everyone just assumes they’re always like that. Whether someone wants to find out if the misconception is true or not it’s on them because some people would want to know how they really are. So many people have been seen the wrong way for so long that sometimes they just don’t care anymore. If people really wanted to know how they are as a person some would take the time to actually talk to them. Some people aren’t even talked to because of things said about them that aren’t true. Misconceptions can hurt someone’s image in many ways especially if they have a good job or if they’re high in business.
