Short Story: Field Trip To Lidtke Miller
Today was the day that Jessie had been waiting for, the 8th graders were taking a field trip to Lidtke Mill. Jesse's older brother Phil had told her the the mill was haunted by a ghost of an electrocuted man. Jesse was so excited about the thought of seeing a real ghost, she even told her friends Jonah, Kelly and Olive about it. The class boarded the bus to go to the mill, the teacher Mrs. Buttonhimer talked to them about picking a partner and sticking with a group. Jesse and her friends were trying to come up with a plan so they could sneak away from the group and do some exploring on their own.

The bus pulled up to the mill, Jesse thought is looked creepy from the outside. Everyone got off the bus and started finding their partners, Jesse and her friends stayed close together. They decided to walk slowly behind the rest of the class and wait for their chance to go their own direction. The class entered the mill, as soon as Jesse walked through the door she felt a cold chill, and she thought she saw a glowing light in the corner Jesse tried to get Olive’s attention to show her, but the light disappeared.

Buttonhimer didn’t seem to notice. Jesse thought she had seen a bright light in the corner but when she went to tell her friends about it it disappeared again. Jesse felt like she was being watched. Her group walked past a door, Jesse thought this would be a good time to go explore with her friends. She whispered to the other 3 girls that they should check it out. Olive opened the door and Jesse led the way, it was a staircase that went down. It got darker and darker, Kelly took her cellphone out and turned on flashlight mode to help light the path. Duncan decides to make amends for his failure last summer by tracking down the owner of the journal by using clues left hidden in the diary. After talking with his friend Vinny, Duncan decides to turn the journal over to the police, but they do not take him seriously, so he decides to get help from Vinny, do some research at the local library, and find out where the killer works and lives so they can prove to the police the diary is for real. But in the process when Duncan finds the house of the serial killer, he decides to take a look in it but unfortunately at that very time the serial killer appears and chases Duncan to the subway station. They get into fight there and they both fell on the subway tracks in the station where they get hit by the train. Duncan luckily survives but the serial killer dies.…
