Short Story Tuesday Of The Other June By Norma Mazer
“Tuesday of the Other June” by Norma Fox Mazer is a realistic Fiction short story about a girl who is being bullied and is miserable. And she doesn’t want to go to swim class on Tuesday because that's where she gets bullied. The girl who is bothering her is named June and the girl that’s getting bullied is named June. Soon June is getting bullied even more and it is getting worse. June moves away to another school and she thinks that she won’t be bullied anymore but they move to a school where the other June goes to. Finally June stands up for herself after being bullied she finally realized that her bully wants a reaction so she sticks up for herself and becomes the bigger one. When she home by herself June’s mom is telling her not to tell anybody on the phone that your home by yourself. For example in paragraph 15 her mom asks her if she has her key and she lifts it up to show her. Then she says “I won’t let any strangers into the house”. This proves that she is a good mom because June already knows not to do that stuff and that she taught her not to do it. The other June is succeeding with bullying June. Like when she they were in the locker room and she took June’s swim suit and said she got it from a dumpster. At one point she took her swim suit and threw it into the garbage. In paragraph 24 and 25 June is being really mean to June. The other June saw an opportunity to bully June. “Your name is Fish eyes”. This proves that the other June is a bully and does not like June.
June struggles in the story, like many other people with being bullied. When she was at swim class, the other June calls her names and pinches her. When she was moving she thought she was going wouldn't have to get bullied anymore. In the end she stands up to the other June and learns a lesson. She learned that you have to stick up for yourself and that all bullies want is a reaction so if you don't give them one then they can't bully
