Should Cloning of Animals and Humans Be Legal
Should cloning of animals and humans be legal?
For my immediate response, I think that cloning of animals and humans should be illegal. This is because there is a high that the clones will develop mutations.
The way cloning works is called fusion cell cloning. This process only needs two animals. It first starts of by taking the nucleus out of an adult cell. It’s then placed into an empty egg and it’s given an electric shock, causing it to fuse together. Finally it forms a new cell and it’s ready to be an embryo. Another process is called adult cell cloning. This is the same process as fusion cell cloning, but it requires a third animal or human. The new cell is placed in the third animal and then it can be born.
The good points about cloning are that it can save animals from extinction. Or even bring back a species which are already extinct. Another good point about cloning is that it can clone your pets or prized animals so they can continue after the original. Anyone can clone themselves, so there is no worry of not having a clone. And lastly, it can clone spare body and organ parts, which could save your life.
On the other hand, there are bad points about cloning. The success rates of cloning are very low. Cloning has a 70% failure rate of being mutated. Another bad point is that it will reduce variety in people. So if the environment changes, the clones wouldn’t be able to adapt to the environment.
In the future, we can use cloning for creative applications. For example, you can put useful genes into plants. Such as putting a drought resistant gene into a plant, so it can live in dry areas. Scientists can ‘cut’ out genes and make copies. You can use these copies in case you need spare body parts or organs.
After looking in depth at the information about cloning, I think that cloning should be illegal to clone. I think this because we haven’t perfected cloning and there is a high chance that the new clone will develop mutations and deformities. But,

On the other hand, there are quite a few cons that potentially outweigh the pros of cloning humans. The first con is that human cloning is unnatural. According to Lombardo, “many feel that interfering with the natural process of pro-creation would lead to other attributes of life being altered” or displaced from society. Many people are opposed to this issue due to their religious beliefs, because they feel man will be replacing the higher being as the creator of creatures on this Earth. In a scientific point of view, using an older cell to create a new organism could possibly cause an “imprinted age [to] be place on the growing embryo”, resulting in faster aging (“Pros and Cons of Human Cloning”). Lastly, because human cloning is a roughly…

There are some positives to cloning but only therapeutic cloning when it is used to replicate cells. Therapeutic cloning produces embryonic stem cells for creating tissues to replace injured or diseased tissues(3). This can be used to cure people not harm them. Artificial cloning can be good for the studies and discoveries that have been made but otherwise the animals that die are not helping anyone.…

Clones could be seen as less than animals compared with non-clones” (Quinonez, blog.udemy.com). When I was reading I read that cloning is good for one good reason, to harvest the animal's organs. This idea is so inhumane, according (toblog.udemy.com) “While the cloning of body organs can be a great asset to extending human life, it could also cause a lot of malpractice. This could lead to a rise in malpractices within society.” First, scientist create these disgusting creatures and steal their organs for the purpose of human's life, that is just…

While a large portion of society do not believe that we should clone any species there is the portion that whole heartedly support the quest to prefect not only the cloning of animals but the cloning of humans. By cloning we can create new ways to fight diseases and other health problems by doing things like cloning a liver for a person whose is shutting down. Cloning can also help bring a species back from the brink of extinction due…

Cloning can change the way we live our lives. If we could perfect cloning we could do amazing things with science. For example, cloning could help out in many experiments. Maybe save lives by helping to find a cure for diseases by using a clone of someone you were examining, but died in the process. Like the movie “My Sister's Keeper”, in this movie the oldest daughter is diagnosed with Leukemia and the parents create a younger daughter that is almost an exact replica of her. The younger of the two is used for parts every time the older needs them. Cloning could be used a lot in situations like this. “I take the view that anything you can do to relieve suffering or improve human health will usually be widely accepted by the public - that is to say, if cloning actually turned out to be solving some problems and was useful to people, I think it would be accepted.” (John…

There are many opinions that different from both sides of going for and against animal cloning. Jacqueline Langwith writes, “Some people don't like cloning because they do not like the idea of recreating an animal or species” (Langwith). Although her statement provides a rationale why certain people may not like this process, they do not understand that animal cloning is not hurting the species. Cloning is saving species. Therefore, animal cloning should be legalized. Cloning can save endangered species, researchers can use animal clones for a food source, and researchers can study organs and tissues from clones.…

Cloning is useful on a bacterial level for doing all sorts of science related to DNA. Bacterial clone libraries are kept with every gene we find. Cloning on a larger scale would allow us to produce an organ transplant without worry of rejection from the host. Whole animal cloning is only useful for people who want the same looking pet they had that died or maybe you had a good steak and you wanted to clone that cow. The possible impact of cloning is improving the overall standards human beings. Cloning will do a lot for medical research. It will also challenge people’s ideas about life and about themselves. Disadvantage of the use of cloning are adding clones to the population would make things worse, world would eventually explode. Benefits of the use of cloning such as medical emergencies for an example if someone needed a heart or someone needed something donated or replaced. Cloned genes are also used to produce drugs, insulin, clotting factors, human growth hormone, and industrial enzymes. In 1952 scientists transferred a cell from a frog embryo into an unfertilized egg, which then developed into a…

I think cloning is bad because if we genetically alter clones and develop people to be perfect beings then there will not be diversity and there will be problems because people will be choosing selected genes to make the perfect child. Everyone will have the same bodies and diseases will kill a lot of humans because they are all the same. Cloning is also a big moral issue because the concept of making people could interfere or disrupt people’s beliefs and religions.…

Though many people dismiss the idea of cloning as a way of destroying nature’s diversity, cloning techniques can potentially become life savers for many. The ability to clone will allow scientists to duplicate new, needed organs for patients thanks to therapeutic cloning. Endangered animals will be able to become striving species overtime due to reproductive cloning. Infertile women will once again be granted the gift of giving birth, all creditable to reproductive cloning.…

With so many enhancements in medical science, cloning is slowly but surely looking like it could be in the near future. However, is it really an option that should be considered as a way to extend human life? There are a number of negatives involved with reproductive cloning. According to udemy.com, “95% of animal cloning has ended in failure due to genetic defects, and cloning is considered unsafe because of it” (Quinonez). Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus written by Mary Shelley goes along very well with the statement that science can go too far. In the book Victor Frankenstein created a monster that he later regretted creating him. Many believe that cloning is against God’s wishes because the clones would be created by man. Man would be playing God and create people that are unable to feel and empathize. There is also the belief that these clones would be created without a soul. Whatever peoples view on cloning…

“ It lays the technical groundwork for cloning-to-produce-children, which raises a host of ethical concerns. It could lead to fetal farming--growing cloned embryos to a later stage so that their valuable organs can be harvested for research or transplantation.” (Stark) This quote shows that clones can be created for their organs which could also help people. “Boisselier said the public needs to know "there is a huge demand" for cloning technology from couples unable to have children.” (Spar) This quote shows that people can use clones as their children if they are unable to have children. As you can see, The evidence shows that cloning would be a big help for…

Evidence: “ With the advancement and expansion of technology science has been able to achieve new wonders. These improvements and discoveries in science have allowed the human race to explore and learn more about the world. One such phenomenon is cloning. Cloning has opened the doors to explore human beings in a way that was once never possible. With cloning the human body, as well as other organisms, will be studied. Cloning and genetic engineering will both come into play to improve scientific knowledge.” (Serendip, 1)Citation: ( Serendip, Cloning right or wrong)Evidence: Many people believe human cloning should be banned prior to human defects, health problems, not proper treatment, and many other things. Human cloning Has not been exactly successful, and most of the time it has failed. However, scientist are trying to figure things out and fix itCitation: ( Serendip, Cloning right or wrong)…

Nowadays is about the issue of human cloning. Do we get the benefits from the human cloning? According the anonymous (2013), it mentions “the advantages of cloning are also quite apparent: human cloning could very well lead to faster medical cures, a better overall quality of life, and even longer life spans”. Moreover, the goal of research cloning is to create stem cell lines and these lines will be used to study specific diseases (Morrison & Furlong, 2014). I also like to mention about the ethics and moral over the applications of cloning technology. As the human cloning gives benefits to the society, people can be affected by the human cloning. The anonymous…

Have you ever thought of having two of yourselves? All the pranks you would do to others, fooling other people/teachers. Imagine all the work two of you can get done. It may seem like a sci-fi movie but scientist are actually doing this today. There are many benefits to cloning people, animals and plants. There are lots of ways in which cloning can be beneficial to us. A few examples of how cloning can help us solve problems are by genetically producing humans to test out new medicine for diseases, cloning organs for transplants, weapons, and help us in war. This can also benefit us in farming. We can create new plants, fruits, vegetables, and flowers. This would help starvation in third world countries. Cloning animals also has benefits, it can help endangered species not be in extinction, there would be less starvation, and we would make more animal based products.…
