For example, if there are big games coming up and the athlete can’t afford to miss the game who knows, maybe the teacher would go above and beyond to make sure the student’s grades are good enough to remain eligible. It seems crazy but things like this have happened before. Other students feel the college football players also get special treatment adds to this common mindset. Other students that have to bust their butts in the classroom to get good grades and if they still struggle while not getting that extra aid towards their grade, it's just not fair at all. This isn't the case with all college football players as some balance school and football well but this favoritism does occur and it isn’t fair. If the college football players were paid they would be perceived as even more privileged even further by their peers, treated even more differently, and would also put forth less effort in the class room. How would this pay structure even work? How much will the players be paid? Would certain players get paid more than others because of their grade? These are all questions that need to be answered. For example, if a freshman is out performing a senior some may think they should be paid for performance others may think seniority would be more important determining who makes more. Another possibility of how much a player makes could depend on what position they play or where they are on the depth chart. It would be too confusing and difficulty determining fairly the amount to pay each player. For example sophomore Cardale Jones from Ohio State University started off as a third string Quarterback then took over the starting spot replacing Junior first string Quarterback Braxton Miller and Freshman second stringer JT Barrett And won them a national championship. In saying that however the start going into the season was Braxton Miller who because of injury did not play a snap. Then Barrett was one of the best players in college football until he got hurt. The level of these three men’s paychecks could of went up and down the entire season and proves the pay structure would be hard to
