Should High School Students Get 100 Hours Essay
Every high school has certain requirements to graduate, for example credit requirements. Although they may be too much sometimes, they do help in the long run. Schools are now deciding to require high school students to complete 100 hours of community serve as a requirement to graduate. I personally believe that this is a great idea. Although some may argue that these students have too much on their plates already, I believe the positives outweigh the negatives in this case.

There is nothing better than to know you have helped someone. Now a days, it a self interest world and it would be nice for these students to spend their time helping other and being productive. It also shows these students that there are people out there that are less fortunate than them and it is their duty to help and make our community better as a whole. It is a great opportunity for the students to grow and learn new things

Community serve will help you meet new people, allow you to make friends and make connections. In this world having connections is important, networking is key and this will open doors to those opportunities. Community serve will also help with the graduation rates. Colleges look for extra curricular activities outside of your comfort zone and community serve is great to have on your application and resume.

Overall, I believe there are many positives to having mandatory community service that will not only help these students now but in the future as well. I believe the school should definently adopt the policy which requires students in high schools to complete 1000 hours of community serve before

I serve the community through many different ways. I volunteer to help with things going on around the community, for example, I have signed up to help with registration for a race that was going on at a local gym. I have also contributed in helping kids and adults with special needs. I helped at Farm, teaching these people how to ride horses and communicate with others. Riding horses helped them learn how to use their body more efficiently. I feel as all of us that had the chance to contribute in helping them changed these adults and kids lives. They also changed ours on how we look at people. At the farm I also have taught at horse camp with the 8 and under kids. Being a counselor isn’t as easy as I thought it would be. You really have to teach the kids good communication with others around them and also some rules and morals that they will hopefully carry on in life. Like, forgiving each other, and not to hold grudges against one another.…
