Community Service Experience Overall, community service is paying back to people and animals that are in need. That is why it is necessary for the people that are able to participate do. Not only should people do it because they have to, they should want to. I have learned this personally through my community service experiences. By participating in community service it has allowed me to change as a person and look at life differently. In the beginning I was not enthusiastic about volunteering, but afterwards it made me feel good about myself. There are many benefits of volunteering like, doing helpful things of your interest, interacting with family and friends, and receiving more knowledge about things you didn’t know. There are many aspects of community service that are not blatantly shown. The organization that I volunteered for is called the No Homeless Pets Association; this organization was well organized and helped a lot of animals. The reason I chose this event was because it had to do with animals and it seemed to be the most genuine. These are key points in choosing, if the website seems shady or fake then that would make me not want to chose them. Also I chose the No Homeless Pets was because I have a strong connection with pets, I love my dog very much and I wouldn’t want her to ever be hungry. This motivated me into choosing them. Whenever I was reading their website I was expecting to be comforting pets in need and helping them find a home. That seemed to me like a good way to spend five hours on a Saturday. From the website it said “we provide about a one month supply of cat or dog food for up to 4 dogs and 5 cats per household, for those who qualify” (No Hungry), this gave me a better understanding of what I was actually going to be doing. This showed the generosity of the shelter and assured me that they were good people. Even though in my past I have not done any community service of
