Should Illegal Immigrants Be Allowed To Stay In The United States
Have you ever imagined what it would be like if immigrants came to America legally? Our country would be much different. Many Americans believe that immigrants should listen to the immigration laws and enter America legally. Other Americans and immigrants believe that there shouldn’t even be any immigration laws because all people are equal. This controversial question has led to discrimination and various political views. Should illegal immigrants be allowed to stay in the United States of America and be granted citizenship? I believe that illegal immigrants should not be allowed to stay in our country. By making this statement, I am not saying that I am against immigration in any way. I am happy to welcome immigrants into our country, as long as they just live under our laws like the rest of us. If they come here legally, we would be able to do background checks on them before letting them into our country so there is less of a chance of crime being committed by immigrants. I think that if immigrants want to live in our country, they should find a job and use that money to find a place to live. However, immigrants should not just use our government’s money for their possessions because when they continuously abuse the welfare system, American taxes increase at tremendous rates each year to pay for them.

In addition immigrants are beginning to overpopulate America. As of March 30, 2017, there are approximately 27,126,928 illegal immigrants in the U.S. and it is increasing every second. In my opinion, the most unacceptable thing that some immigrants do is when they come to America and have a child only so that they can stay in the U.S. for a longer period of time. They know the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) will try to focus more on deporting the illegal criminals, rather than deporting an immigrant who has started a “family.” This is very unacceptable because a human being should only have a child if they are married, in love, they really want a child, and are ready for one. By having a child just to stay in the country can lead to bad parenting if they are not ready. As a result, these children can grow up to be criminals or struggle as adults. This will increase the criminal rate and American taxes even more. This then creates a cycle which continuously goes on unless America puts a stop to it. Illegal immigrants have shown that they don’t believe the immigration rules apply to them.
They have crossed the line, basically stealing a chance at a better life from millions of Americans and people around the world who would like to live in America. In addition, illegal immigrants are starting to overpopulate the United States. A rising share of unauthorized immigrants have lived in the U.S. for at least a decade. Six states accounted for 59% of unauthorized immigrants in 2014. These states were California, Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey and Illinois. These numbers are consistently growing each year and is a serious issue for
America. Lastly, illegal immigrants should not be allowed in the U.S. However, other people might say that they should be allowed to stay in America because all people are equal. These people don’t understand that illegal immigrants cost Americans billions of dollars each year. Also, some immigrants are criminals and are dangerous. Moreover, some immigrants have a child in the U.S. only so they don’t get deported at the current time. Illegal immigrants also take advantage of the immigration rules and think they do not apply to them. I believe my statement is correct because we need to stop the increase of illegal immigrants so Americans can live the lives they were promised. To make everyone happy and make everything fair, immigrants should come to America legally. This would increase the safety of Americans and we can begin to rebuild our country once and for all!
