Should Illegal Immigrants Be Illegal Essay
Election season has passed, but the debate over illegal immigration has not. From the East to the West coast, from Canada to Mexico, immigrants are trying to enter America, legally and illegally. Illegal immigrants should be allowed to become legal residents because America isn’t an isolationist country anymore , the amount of positives that come with an increase in population and workforce, and how much money it costs to fix the broken system.

Immigrants who are immigrating to America are emigrating from their own countries for a reason. People from other countries do not have the same rights and freedoms as people in America, immigrants from some countries leave because it is their only chance for a better life. Take the Statue of Liberty for example, it was built as a symbol of hope to the world, which should not be cast aside and forgotten for racism and bias against immigrants. Even though “27% [ of those surveyed] say they should not be allowed to stay legally”, a larger majority of Americans see illegal immigrants as a good thing for the country. Illegal immigrants should be given the chance to have permanent residency or citizenship in America because, the world is very large and isolating ourselves from it will only work for so long, people who are willing to work are a boost to the economy, and why continue to use a system that has been proven to be broken. The alternative is spending an extremely large sum of money to put procedures in place to deport over “11 million illegal immigrants”. While America could spend the large sum of money to deport illegal immigrants, the amount of money that is generated by the illegal immigrants far outweighs the amount we would spend to deport them. America is facing a huge problem with illegal immigration, but instead of blaming immigrants for being the problem, why not try to fix the problem from where it matters most,

The United States is a nation built on immigrants and this is why the nation was deemed “The melting pot,” because of all the different nationalities residing in this country. When one place has better resources, opportunities, and living conditions than the current place, it makes sense for someone to migrate to the better land. That better land in today’s world is the land of opportunity-- America. This nation is one founded on immigrants. The founding fathers came from Europe with hope and ambition for a better life for them and their children. Today, people immigrate for the same reason. The difference is that immigration is now looked at with a negative eye. Immigrants now are often blamed for the hardships of American citizens. Immigrants receive accusations of stealing the jobs of American citizens. They also face discrimination and are under represented in congress. Immigrants are also blamed for overwhelming democratic support, which deteriorates the accuracy of who the American citizens want for president. Despite all of these negative views on immigrants, immigrants are not actually that bad for America. People who see immigrants as toxic for America fail to remember all of the times they have benefitted America. The benefits Mexican immigrants bring to the US outweigh the harm they may bring.…

America has always been a nation of immigrants, and it remains today the most welcoming nation in the world. It is a violation of both state and federal law for immigrants who are not citizens to vote in state and federal elections. These violations effectively exclude legitimate voters whose votes are diluted, and they must be shortened. Voting is a notorious representation in American community life. Besides standing for public office, American citizens don’t have any more civic obligations than those that are derived from their ability and responsibility to help shape the community policy. The privilege to vote is an essential vehicle for exercising civic obligations. That is the reason the augmentation of the vote to all the country’s citizens has truly been…

A lot of people think that immigrants are bad for very few reasons. Many think that just because most immigrants are from Mexico, they are all criminals. That is really not true because several people are judging all of the immigrants like if they know them. Immigrants should not be judged just because they come from Mexico or basically anywhere. People should understand about the benefits it would bring to our country like for example the economy would be better, education would go up and the country would have no need to separate families.…

America, “The Land of Opportunity,” attracts many. Individuals that are drawn to America and its benefits include tourists and even illegal immigrants or “Undocumented Immigrants.” Immigration refers to the act of journeying to a country with the intent to stay permanently. The United States offers legal admission but the process can often prove to be tedious and cumbersome. In an attempt to bypass the U.S. legal system, individuals may resort to unlawful access to the country. Immigration should be encouraged because diversity makes for a stronger, more unique country, but it should not be done so in an unlawful and inappropriate manner including one that hinders Americanism.…

The huge amount of illegal citizens that live in a nation that is supposed to be independent and home ruled, have only done bad for the United States. Illegal immigration is believed to have helped the United States economy, but in reality, all the foreigners coming to the United States only brought problems and violence to our nation.…

In our society today, Illegal Immigration has been one of the most debated topics in our country. It is even been debated and a hot topic in our current Presidential Primary Debates. There are a number of illegal residents in this country. You may be wondering, how did this happen? Illegal immigration began from a number of residence entering the country without the government permission. However, illegal immigration dates back all the way to the 1880s. This was before the government began using federal law to restrict any access of foreigners coming into the country. Some of these immigrants have also taken advantage of their stay and have exceeded the date of their temporary visas. Unfortunately, due to the lack of enforcing rules, the number of illegal immigrants in this country have increased.…

The biggest problem of immigration is the way it has divided America. During this last election, I heard the topic of Immigration discussed more than I’ve ever heard before, and most of it was opinion, rather than fact. Immigration has triggered the most disgusting fears of many Americans, the “foreign people are coming to take over” fear. In my opinion, immigration is a good thing, as it brings diversity to the United States, which is something I value very much. Many people believe that immigrates come to America, rent homes, use the U.S. and then leave. However, according to the Center for American Progress, 50.7 percent of immigrants are homeowners, compared to 64.6 percent of U.S. citizens. I’ve heard quite a few people say that immigrants…
