INTRODUCTION
For years, a question many educators, parents, and researchers have been asking is whether or not it is academically beneficial to teach to boys and girls together or separately at school. Co-Education means the education of boys and girls together in the same institution and at the same time. In India, it has recently become common. In the recent past religious leaders and the people of conservative views did not favor the idea. They were even against the education of women, because they were not in favor of liberty and equality to be granted to women. But now times have changed.
The aim of this essay is to prove how beneficial co- education is, compared to those of single sex education.
First i will expose the inevitable exposure of Children to the opposite sex in order to be prepared for later life.
Subsequently, I will show the other hand of the topic, proving how Single-sex schools develop gender stereotypes, affecting the quality education in schools
Arguments in favor
Children need to be exposed to the opposite sex, in order to be prepared for later life. It’s easier to deal with the other sex when people develop this ability since children. According to magazine “Forbes,” when students are segregated by sex, they miss opportunities to work together and develop vital social skills. In Co- educational schools, children build trustful relationships as friendship and even successful romantic connections. Also, children with most exposure to the opposite sex can easily see the difference between bad and good attitudes in people.
Furthermore, certain Subjects are better understood by children when boys and girls interact at the same time, as London’s University confirmed. Finally students that go to mixed gendered schools, they will benefit from having a richer range of experiences
Single-sex schools develop gender stereotypes, which are reinforced because sex segregated children cant learn from each other and even worst spend time together for understanding. According to “Science Daily,” a study conducted in 2010 by Professor of Psychology, Lynn Liben 's research, showed that when boys and girls are separated for just two weeks, after the reinstatement, students played less with children of the opposite sex and held traditional stereotypical gender views. As a matter of fact, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) proves this fact; through the investigation of single-sex schools across the country and filing lawsuits against those it says promote gender stereotypes. To say nothing of the numerous single sex schools has developed serious aggression problems against the civil liberties of LGBT individuals, caused by the gender stereotypes increasing.
Arguments against
Boys and girls learn better when they are separated. According to the book Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus (1992), there’s a gulf between men and women behavior, including the way of learning. An Australian study of 270,000 students found that both boys and girls performed significantly higher on standardized tests when they attended separate schools. Being in a segregated school, students gain more confidence, especially in the girl’s case, conclusion said by professors Myra and David, after ten years of studying sexism in classrooms. Furthermore, in concordance with PhD psychologist, Leonard Sax, he recommends single sex schools for effective teaching methods specifically designed for each gender. Finally, A national study from UCLA Graduate School of Education and a research “The Female Brain” by University of California claims to show that girls from single sex schools have an edge over their coed peers, exalting the female brain for verbal agility, the ability to connect deeply in friendship, and the ability to defuse conflict.
Single sex schools are better because students don’t feel distraction by the opposite sex. Segregated schools have a more relaxed environment where boys and girls don 't need to worry about impressing the other gender. According to Evolutionary Psychologists, Vaillancourt and Sharma, they belive that academic competition between the sexes is unhealthy and only adds to unhappiness and anxiety among weaker students. Susan Vincent, a teacher of a single sex school for girls, ratifies the advantage girls have of learning without distractions, increasing the interest for subjects where girls can speak more openly in class. Conclusively, a study proved that a space without distraction facilitates to segregated children to take risks by choosing different common courses due to their gender: boys are more likely to select arts or tackle advanced academic subjects without feeling shame of being called nerds and girls are more likely to choose science and technology subjects without being called tomboys.

For years, a question many educators, parents, and researchers have been asking is whether or not it is academically beneficial to teach to boys and girls together or separately at school: co-education and single sex education respectively. This topic is still controversial nowadays. In India, co-education has recently become common. In the recent past religious leaders and the people of conservative views did not favor the idea. They were even against the education of women, because they were not in favor of liberty and equality to be granted to women. But now times have changed.
B. THESIS STATEMENT
The aim of this essay is to prove how beneficial co- education is, compared to those of single sex education.
a) First I will open up the inevitable need of exposure of Children to the opposite sex in order to be prepared for later life.
b) Subsequently, I will show the other hand of the topic, proving how Single-sex schools develop gender stereotypes, affecting the quality education in schools

III. SECOND TOPIC SENTENCE:

a) Single sex schools are reinforced because sex segregated children cant learn from each other and even worst spend time together for understanding.
b) A test from Professor Liben showed the rejection of children from boys and girls when they were separated for 2 weeks ago in their class and as a result, students played less with children of the opposite sex and held traditional stereotypical gender views. (Liben)
c) As a matter of fact, according to The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU, 2006), proves the existence of stereotypes in single sex schools through the investigation of numerous of them across the country and filing lawsuits against.
d) To say nothing of, segregated children have developed serious aggression problems against the civil liberties of LGBT –lesbians, Gays, Bisexual & Travesties- individuals, caused by the gender stereotypes increasing.

A diverse school experience is positive which co-educational schools do. Co education offers an experience that is more real because the existence of the opposite sex and enriching because the abilities development for a closer real world which we have to deal everyday. Does this mean that only gender differences concern? Of course not, gender does matter, as also do a large number of other variables. Although we must be aware, and consider the impact of many other factors – including school structure, socioeconomic backgrounds, and the quality of the teachers and teaching – are such important contributing variables to the healthy development of children.

At stake is the full potential of each individual child’s cognitive, social, and emotional development. Although I do believe that gender socialization does have an impact on the individual child’s cognitive, social, and emotional development, I think there are other issues that children face that play just as big of a stake in their full potential as well. An idea disregarded by many in the effort to perfect education systems throughout the world is to separate classes by gender. One of many reasons why a separate gender class is so successful is because there are substantially less distractions there than in a coed classroom. One point which I consider to be absolutely vital is the balance of subject-liking preference for both girls and boys. In other words, there are gender-typical subject preferences in both education systems: Single-sex school and Co-ed school.
