I believe some school rules should remain the same regarding the dress code particularly rules about modesty. Girls should not be allowed to wear short dresses or strapless shirts. They are not allowed to have any cleavage and tank tops are not allowed. St. Tammany Parish high schools all follow the same rule book. Male students are supposed to be clean shaven and have short hair. They are not allowed to have sagging pants or holes in their clothing. Most kids at my school dress appropriately, but every once in a while, I will see a student with giant holes in their pants, exposing their undergarment. This is a great example of how some students dress inappropriately. Students with big holes in their clothing are in dress code violation. Another problem my schools students tend to have is offensive clothing. I have seen inappropriate clothing at my school before. I have mostly seen shirts with bad words on them. …show more content…
I think some of the rules aren’t fair.
Girls can have short hair if they want, but guys can’t have long hair. The reason guys can not have long hair is because it is considered to be distracting. I do not agree with this rule, mainly because I think it is ridiculous to inquire that the length of a male’s hair can be distracting. Another problem I have with the school dress code is the facial hair rule. The majority of male students are tired of this shaving rule. Most don’t understand why the male faculty members are allowed to grow beards just based on their role in an educational environment. If male teachers are allowed to grow beards, then why can’t the male students have them too? I just don’t understand how males are allowed to have hair on the top of their head and not be allowed to have it on their cheeks and
neck.
There are many rules that are expected to be followed at school. Some more strict than others. It is up to us students to help change some of those ridiculous rules.
