Should the United States normalize business relations with Cuba? If so, should the United States stipulate any conditions?
Cold war between United States and Cuba are over 50 years. Through 50 years, United States impose trade embargo of Cuban so, there is no business trade among two countries which is no Cuban products or raw material may enter the U.S., U.S. companies and foreign banned from trade with Cuba, Cuba must pay cash up front when importing U.S. food, U.S. citizens banned from spending money or receiving gifts in Cuba and in effect a travel ban. Trade embargo that been impose to Cuban actually give an huge impact this is because before Fidel Castro in power, United States bought Cuban sugar and Venezuela has followed by subsidizing oil exports to Cuba.
After Castro came to power 1959, trade between the United States and Cuba stopped and it continuous for 5 decades until in 2011 under Obama administration, they allow U.S citizens permission to make purposeful (academic, cultural, and humanitarian) travel to Cuba. Same goes to Cuban government where Cuban citizen can travel abroad, ability to buy and sell houses and automobiles.
Actually in 2009, the Organization of American States (OAS) lifted a 47 year suspension of Cuba as a member and in 2011; the United Nations voted 186 to 2 against the U.S. embargo with Cuba. It shows that, United States need to end up embargo and start new relationship with Cuba.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of the Cold War in the early 1990s and collapse of the Soviet Union triggered many changes for the communist countries. The relationships between United States and Cuba has exceed to a new relationship. However to normalize business relations with Cuba very tough and
