The first perspective supports that more gun control should be implemented because more gun control would reduce gun deaths. During the years between 1999 and 2013, there were a total of 464,033 gunshot deaths, which 58.2% of them are suicides; 37.7% of them are homicides; and 2.2% of them are unintentional death. According to the statistic conducted by WISQARS, firearms were the 12th leading cause of all deaths.

perspective also supports the argument because guns are hardly used in self-defense. According to the data from the Bureau of Justice Statistics, 0.79% of victims protected themselves with a threat of use or use of a firearm between 2007 and 2011, which is the lowest rate of method that people use to protect themselves from violent crimes, and 0.12% of victims protected themselves with a threat of use or use of a firearm from property crimes.
Though I discover many perspectives that support to implement more gun control, there are people who stands on the opposite side and thinks that more gun control is not needed because they view education as their priority.
They think it is the people who kill people not the guns. “A responsible and knowledgeable gun owner is rarely involved in a firearms accident of any kind.” This quote is discovered from a document written by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute. Heidi Cifelli, Former Program Manager of the NRA’s Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program, stated, “Gun education is the best way to save young
lives.”
All the perspectives above use evidence, data, statistic, and quotes to support their arguments, which seems that they have proved their points. However, there are few flaws in the evidence they gave to the readers.
