Not many people choose to look at the actual statistics of deaths or injuries caused by firearms. There was a saying that I heard once, “Guns do not fire themselves, people fire guns”. Out of all the statistics, you are most likely to get killed in a car accident, than you are getting shot by an actual gun. I have stated all the facts that I have researched, now I would like to state my opinion of this topic since that is also part of an actual discussion. Reading these articles and seeing the opinions of other people has opened my eyes a bit. I personally live with two avid hunters, and not once has there been any kind of gun related accident in or around my home. I think some of these laws are quite ridiculous, and that they are mainly there to try and control people’s right to bare arms. I do not understand why gun control is a bigger issue than trying to help children who have no home or families to care for them. The pro about having certain laws in place for guns are that it keeps people from going overboard and overdoing certain things like hunting for wild game. A con is that it intentionally make it impossible to protect yourself in certain situations. I would whole heartedly bet that if a person was being held at gun point and they did not have a gun, that they themselves would want one at their side. A gun can, yes, take a life.
