In today’s dynamic employee environment, when the attrition and the employee turnover rates are at their highest, the importance of creating a fun and a jovial environment in the office cannot be stated more seriously. The employees today look at not only the monetary benefits of work but also at various other important issues that affect their work life balance.
In this regards the atmosphere in the workplace and their bonding with the other employees gives the organizations an extra edge over their competitors. As happy employees would be able to contribute more towards the success of their companies as compared to unhappy and disgruntled employees. Not to say that the employees would in that case take more responsibilities and would be ready to get that extra mile to see that their company achieves the desired success in the market. This put the onus on the HR department to see to the fact that the employees are happy and satisfied at the workplace. One of the most famous of doing this is through conducting fun activities in the office where in all the employees across the departments participate and interact with each other on a personal level.
Usually the organizations which have a silo culture, the employees are not able to meet or interact with each other personally and only interact at a professional level. These individuals can then interact at a personal level and increase their productivity going ahead by working together as a team. This would benefit the company to a great deal going ahead. Also these fun activities apart from building team spirit amongst the employees act as a very good stress buster. So the employees, who have been working day and night for the company, would need a break from their regular schedule to chill and relax in the office environment. These activities would help them a great deal and keep them motivated over a period of time.
These activities can also help the company in increasing their brand value, both internally as well as externally in the market. The other employees who are working in rival companies would see this company as a better place to work for if they have a fun and a jovial environment in the office. As the scenario has changed and the amount of competition in the market is very high, it is very important for the employers to present their company as a cool place to work in where the employees don’t get a feeling of being stressed out. This would help the company stand out from its other competitors in the market and help it get the maximum brand mileage and also attract the best of the talent. So just carrying out these fun activities can result in a win-win situation for the companies over a period of time.

“When a work environment is efficient and friendly the extent of conflict within the workplace is reduced. Less conflict results in the employees being able to concentrate on the tasks at hand and they are therefore more productive.” Paul O’ Brian, an expert in Business Development Management Roles, tells us his opinion on the importance of a friendly environment with employees who work well together. When a work environment is strong and friendly, chances are that employee relations are well and that makes it so it is a pleasant atmosphere for everyone. In turn, this brings about motivation for the employees and increases production significantly. O’ Brian backs this idea with, “Companies that have invested into employee relations programs have experienced increases in the productivity, and therefore the increased productivity leads to increases in profits for the business.” It seems companies have realized the significance of positive social identity of their employees. Communication is key when it comes to helping employees deal with their jobs and to avoid conflict and stress that may arise as a result of miscommunication or being…

The prison system is just as corrupt as the prisoners inside them. We live in a world where it is deemed acceptable to punish a criminal by taking away their humanity, and only release them when they find it themselves. It is apparent that the methods of handling prisoners and their sentences is costly and not effective. The recidivism rate in the United States prison and detention facilities are incredibly high, much higher than their Scandinavian counterpart. Recidivism “refers to a person's relapse into criminal behavior, often after the person receives sanctions or undergoes intervention for a previous crime.” (National Institute of Justice) According to the National Institute of Justice, “within three years of release, about two-thirds of released prisoners were rearrested; and within five years of release, about three-quarters of released prisoners were rearrested.” (National Institute of Justice) Unfortunately the statistics are only the tip of the iceberg in the severely flawed and failing prison. We must reform the flawed prison system, only than can we correct the criminal way of life.…
