They all have a strong basis that there is only one God, so all three of them are monotheistic religions. They all believe in a Heaven or Hell for an afterlife. That comes with a judgment by God to determine where we will go. All of them use a Holy book; Christianity uses The Bible for theirs. Islam uses the Koran, and Judaism uses the Torah. All three holy books connect because the Bible uses writings from the Torah for the Old Testament, and Islam recognizes all three books as actual word of God. …show more content…
They all have connections to Abraham, or father of Judaism.
Abraham had a child with his wife’s servant, Hagar. His name was Ishmael, and the Arabs are direct descendants of him. When Abraham was informed that he had to have a child with his actual wife, Sarah, he did, and his name was Isaac, and Isaac had descendants that formed Israel. They all had Angels involved in their religions. Angels were messengers, soldiers, etc. One Angel named Gabriel who was a messenger, is mentioned in all three religions. Gabriel came to Muhammad and talked to him. After the experience, Muhammad became the final prophet in the Islamic religion, and spread word and became a great ruler. Gabriel was also mentioned in the Bible, when he talked to Mary and Joseph. He told them they would have a baby and name him
Jesus.
There are still more similarities in the religions, so don’t go anywhere yet. In both Islam and Judaism, there was not supposed to be any images made of God. Although Islam was even stricter with the rule that you couldn’t even draw humans or animals because they were made by God. Also, all of them have missionaries to spread word of God. Islam had several prophets, Muhammad being their last. Christianity had missionaries that either had a divine experience, like Saul, later renamed Paul.
There are things that the religions do not agree on, of course. In Christianity, Jesus was believed to be the Messiah, and son of God. Although is Islam, he was not recognized as such, they say he was just a prophet of God, not his son. In official Judaism religion, Jesus was not recognized as the son of God either. He was viewed as fake and blasphemous, spreading lies. They were the ones, who pretty much wanted him crucified in the first place, but they couldn’t kill him themselves, so they had Pontius Pilate do it.
All three of these religions have a lot of similarities and differences. Such as them having Heaven Hell, and some form of judgment before God to determine whether you get salvation, or damnation. They all have Angels too, messengers, soldiers, archangels, etc. Some say they all talk about the same God, which seems very true, but everyone can have misinterpretations at some point. Like Jesus being the Messiah and son of God and the Jews and Islamic people not believing it to be true.
