What is a Monarchy? A Monarchy is a type of government where it is led by either a king or queen. Monarchies are considered to be one of the oldest forms of government, originating from around 1st century BC in Ancient Greece. There are still many countries that still have this form of government today. Famous leaders such as Queen Victoria, and Charles V were able to progress and expand their empires.
