Both texts are not just about having a good society, they are also about people having a good life. Animal Farm’s view of the having a good life is to be happy, being happy for the animals is not being slaves of the humans. Animals not being controlled and making their own rules is their perception of having a good life. However, Truman Show’s good life is freedom which is very similar, the good life for Truman was just being happy until he found out that it was all a lie. Once he found out his goal became leaving the dome that the show is filmed in.
Power is depicted in very different ways in both texts. Power in Truman Show is defined by how it is used, having power in Truman Show is good until it is used in a bad way or taken away from someone else. Christof, who is the producer of the television show was using his power for bad, keeping Truman from the real world growing up his whole life living a fake one. Having power in Animal Farm is defined by Orwell by being bad in every place possible. Animal Farm’s perspective of power is very bad because everyone who is in power at certain times has used it
