Many people lie on the testimony stand but not everyone gets caught. That depends on many factors it depends on if the jury is biased like what happened in To Kill A Mockingbird. Bob Ewell lied on the testimony stand in comparison to real-world George Freeman lied for the same reason as Bob Ewell to protect themselves. People will do anything to save themselves or to benefit themselves. George Freeman and Bob Ewell from To Kill a Mockingbird are the same because they tried to save themselves, even if it meant to ruin someone else's life.…

One of the perspectives that can be used to analyze the two boys is Behavioral perspective. Behavioral perspective is how we learn observable responses. In the video Erik shows change through his observable behavior, talking about his actions felt like they were all in a movie, like he was better than everyone else, and over time his attitude towards life started to get more and more aggressive and violent until he finally snapped. Through high school both Dylan and Erik were bullied immensely. Through this we can see stimulus and responses. As both boys continued to get bullied their actions and attitudes became…

Because the community viewed the Roughnecks as “delinquents” the boys began to see themselves in that way. They started behaving in a way that further reinforced that label. They started hanging around people that further deviated them from societal norms, and they started…
A result of this choice was making Erik think it’s okay to continue making bad choices. When the problem began with Erik spray painting Paul in the eyes, his parents ignored the situation. They took Paul to the hospital and found out that it would be likely that he wouldn’t remember the event. Upon finding that out, his parents chose not to tell Paul about the event and let Erik go, hands free of any consequence. Since Erik was left unaffected by the situation, it led into worse choices, like vandalism and murder. He was still not met with any consequences from his parents and ultimately had to face it with losing his future opportunities. Mom and Dad’s choice to not let Erik face the punishment for his poor choices resulted in him making worse choices and affecting several…

In exploring the perspective that ‘the most shocking aspect of the dystopian novel or film is the realisation that the future is contingent on the present, and can be affected by something we do or don’t do now’ (Diane Johnson, 2014), it becomes apparent that the reflection that the dystopian genre presents on the future consequences as a result of our current actions in the modern society is significant and deeply revelatory in nature. My personal reading of dystopian novel Children of Men by P. D. James (1992) which is split into ‘Book One – Omega’ and ‘Book Two – Alpha’, provides an insightful interpretation of the alleged ‘future’ in 2021 where the human race comes to terms with their inability for reproduction. Through exploring the problematic…
