Similarities Between Genesis 1 And 2
In Genesis chapters 1 and 2, it says that in the beginning God created heaven and earth. He divided the light and the dark and gave them the name night and day. He created the sea, and the grass, and trees and fruit. He created the animals and He made man. He made everything, in the image and likeness of himself. We see him creating living and non-living things. When God spoke, what he commanded happen actually happened. For example, when he called light Day and the darkness Night. He says, “Let us make man in our image, and after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing the creeps on the earth” (Genesis 1:26). …show more content…

The bible talks about how God made everything we know, including ourselves. It is said that Adam and Eve were first animals, and then became human. There are many pictures of how we first started off as animals and then eventually turned into a human. With that being said, there is no way that can be wrong. Another major point is the timing of the creation of the Earth. The Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old. Everything that has been recorded and written down in the Bible has gone in accordance as far as time-wise. I do think that this can be reconciled with the …show more content…

It has helped me view God as a loving, generous, and beautiful person. He created the entire world I live in for the sake of human creation and life. Not only did He create the beauty around me, He gave his only son for me and all of humankind. He loves us so deeply that He would do all of that for us. For that, I adore and cherish Him immensely. This impacts my view on humanity in a negative way. It impacts it negatively because humans are constantly sinning and going against God’s will every single day. He has given us everything and yet humans cannot give him back anything but sin, after all He has done. If it were not for Him, we wouldn’t be here. So to see humanity just be unappreciative of that is just disappointing. Not only that, but God created us to be in the image and likeness of Him. With sin constantly floating around in the world, we will never be able to be an image of Him. It is our responsibility as humans to care properly for the earth. When you get a gift from someone, do you begin to mistreat it and destroy it? No. This should apply to our earth as well. God created it and gave it to us, so why would we want to mistreat it? This is a perfect example of how we are not appreciative of everything that has been given to us. We should be praising Him and doing everything in our power to take care of the beautiful nature He has put around us.

When comparing genesis one to genesis two, you will ascertain how dissimilar they are. To start off, in Genesis one it is stated that there was already water on earth and that God had made the land by gathering water into basins, which he called seas, in comparison with genesis two in which there was only land on earth and that God sends rain down to earth which made streams. In genesis one god had brought forth vegetation first, “every kind of plant that bears seed and every kind of fruit tree on earth that bears fruit with its seed in it”, and all wildlife before he created man, in genesis two it asserts that man was created by God before everything else. Also, in Genesis one it says that mankind was created in God’s image, where as in Genesis two it states that God created man from the dust of the earth, “he LORD God formed the man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being”,this puts up the question was man really created in Gods image, or just from the dust of the earth? In genesis one, the woman and the man are created at the same time, where as in Genesis two, the man was created from the dust of the earth first, then God made animals to give the man company but decided he needed something better and therefore made him a woman out of the mans own rib that God took out while the man was sleeping. In genesis one it says that God created the Heavens and…

Genesis chapter 1 begins with creation. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (New International Version). God’s creation is the start of the natural world. The world was created within 6 consecutive days, having a new creation each of those days. We know…

At first, it may appear as though there are many different explanations of how the earth came to be; however, with a closer look one can see that all explanations have the same message. Science and the Bible, often considered polar opposites, tell the same story just with different words. For instance, Genesis One and The World’s Biggest Membrane describe an ongoing process of creation. It is clear in Genesis One that God did not get it right the first time. After creating man God thinks, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (2:18-19) Immediately following this thought God forms ‘wild animals’ and ‘all the birds in the sky’, unfortunately, this attempt is unsuccessful. God has no success until he eventually creates a woman from the man, to be his helper. He goes through a process of trial and error, rather than it happening all at once. Therefore, it is clearly evident that some form of evolution took place before the earth was completed for the time being. Lewis Thomas’ ideas parallel this when talking about the atmosphere. He talks about…

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.” Genesis 1:1-11:32 ESV http://www.openbible.info/topics/god_creating_the_world…

In Genesis 1:1 we see the verse that tells us, “God created the Heavens and the Earth.” This shows the believers that God is the creator of all things. God is proud of everything that He has created and wants these creations to be a follower of Him and to multiply the Earth. Psalms 104:31 are one of my favorite verses, “May the Lord rejoice in His works” because I like to remind myself that He takes in pride in what He creates, and He created me and every one else with so much love. This verse is a good reminder of how God rejoices in all His creation. In Ephesians 2:10 we see that man was created in the image of God for a purpose, “for good works, which God prepared ahead of time, so that we should walk in them.” God has always been involved in His creations and in our lives.…

The biblical worldview upholds that God ceased from what He was doing and created man. All else, God declared into actuality, but with man He had taken on a more involved role, created him from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into him (Genesis 2:7 New Living Translation). Man was given rule over all earthy creation. Even though the last to be created, man is first of the earthly hierarchy. Above all, the only to be designed in His image. Being appointed to rule over creation, meant to take care of it as well, which included the animals (Genesis 1:28-31 New International…

The Bible teaches us that God created every single living thing in the universe. However, there is one detail that sets humans apart from every other living thing in the world. That is the fact that we were created in Gods’ image. (Genesis 1:27 and Ephesians 4:24) The fact that we were created in the image of our creator is an extremely significant, but often overlooked fact regarding creation. Another significant detail, is the fact that humans have everlasting souls.…

First of all, Genesis was written years before Ovid wrote Metamorphoses. With such as a gap in time, there are differences included in the second poem, which is shown by the fact that Ovid was exiled from Rome after publishing Metamorphoses (Kenney 1). Genesis, which is defined as the formation of something, seems to take more of a spiritual stand, while Metamorphoses, meaning a change or form of nature, sticks to being more scientific. Genesis’ and Ovid’s works both carry similarities with the theme of both writings involving the world's creation and sin, yet both branch out in differing ways.…

The Christian worldview of origin is that God created all things from nothing. Everything from the heavens and the earth; light and dark; land and water; vegetation and living creatures; and finally man. (Genesis 1:1-25) God decided to make man in his own image to have dominion over all creatures on the earth. Mankind came into existence by God forming him from nothing, too. (Genesis 2:7)…

Over the years many developments have been made about how Christians can preserve the Earth. From recycling, to using solar energy, to planting trees for fresh oxygen to provide clean air that deforestation has caused are the many ways Christians have took a stand in conserving our Earth. Isaiah 45:18 says, “ the Lord created the earth and made it; he established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord and there is none else”. This scripture tells us that we are put here on purpose and that we should honor God by taking care of what he has given us. Protecting and conserving the earth should be a Christian’s moral obligation.…
