Similarities Between 'Mulan And The Bracelet'
How is it that being brave can be defined in so many ways and by so many things? Mulan, the protagonist from “Mulan” a famous Chinese legend and Ruri, the protagonist from “The Bracelet” by Yoshiko Uchida share the similar characteristics of bravery. Both stories are set in Asia during war times. Similarly, in both stories, the protagonist, a young girl displays great bravery that helps lead her to self realization. In “The Bracelet” Ruri proves her bravery when her family is being evacuated because the government is suspicious of Japanese people during World War 1. Ruri’s father was taken away before this happened and the family is being forced to leave everything behind. Throughout the plot of the story,
