Similarities Between Society And Jona Society

People are what make a society but Jonas society is so different you can’t even imagine. Jonas society is so different in many ways, example in jonas society you can't see color, you only can have 2 childern 1 boy 1 girl, and people cant have memories. Although there society have some similarities to our society. In Jonas society people can't see color they only can see different shades of black and white. People in Jonas society can't pick between things because all they see is black and white. For example in chapter 13 it states that people weren't given the choice to see color and only one who has access to see colors is the Giver. When Jonas had the ability to see color he got mad because people weren't given the gift to see color and he believes everyone should be able to see color. Unlike Jonas society in our society we are born to see color, colors like red, blue, purple, and etc. We see those colors in our everyday life, we were born gifted unlike the people in Jonas society. Once you already have 2 children you can't have anymore children. For instance, in chapter 1 its states “Two children one male, one female in each family unit.”(Lowry 8).Also if you have a twin the one that weighs more is chosen to stay the other one has
Only person who has memories is the chosen one The Giver. When Jonas firsted started seeing colors soon after that he started receiving memories about poachers killing an elephant that's the first time he saw men other than his skin color. Memories are forbidden because The Giver(The current one) stated “...We really have to protect people from wrong choices.”(Lowry 98).In our society we have memories, we have/make memories in our everyday life or on a regular basis. We make memories of every little single thing in our life for example Friends, School, and about our parents. In our society you can't avoid memories whatsoever it's in our nature to make
