For the world or for yourself? I have just finished reading the Hunger Games Mocking Jay. The book was written by Suzanne Collins a very famous author. The genre of the Hunger Games Mocking Jay is Science Fiction. The book takes place in the midst of a war, between the capitol and the rebellion. When Katniss shot the force field of the arena with the electric wires, the capitol was shut down. Out of power, a way for the rebellion to take place. Katniss is knocked out as well as everyone else in the arena. The rebellion swoops down and takes Katniss with the other tributes. The rebellion started. through many wars and deaths, snow dies as well as Plutarch the leader of the rebellion by the arrow of Katniss. Katniss is forced to live far away from the city, Peeta goes with her.…
In both of the books, they both have things they can and cannot do. For an example, they both have boundaries. However, Katniss goes into the forest almost everyday to help her family survive by hunting animals for food.…
The movie and book the hunger games is a retelling of the theseus and the minotaur myth. The main character in the movie the hunger games (katniss)and the other main character in the myth theseus and the minotaur (theseus) are both following a hero's journey. In both books there is some kind of love connection were one falls for the other and also get help from their loved one. There is also a part in both books when they arrive to the castle or city that they are both fed and treated very well. The hunger games is a retelling of the theseus myth because they both follow the hero's journey, have a love relation of some kind, and are both treated very well before they have there big “fight”.…
Katniss and Rainsford are very alike. One example of how alike they are is when faced with death they fight very hard to avoid it. Another example is Katniss and Rainsford both relied on skills they learned before the situation. A third example is both Katniss and Rainsford are excellent hunters.…
The south is known for a lot of things, amazing sweet tea, good barbeque, but have you ever thought about southern hospitality? No, it isn’t one of Ludacris’s albums, well, not in this sense anyway. Southern Hospitality to me is defined as people being willing enough to volunteer their time, homes, churches, etc to the community, or even country. Tennessee in particular is well known for their southern hospitality, and willingness to volunteer. We’re called the Volunteer State because in the War of 1812 and the Mexican war, we supplied a record number of soldiers, who all willingly donated their lives to help.…
Have you ever found a character, maybe in a tv show, or book, that you can relate to the most (especially by a landslide)? Some people could say yes to the moon and back, while some people have never related that much to a character in their life. For me, I’m more of the former, and I found a character to relate to in To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee; Scout Finch. To explain, Scout and I take longer than others to understand things, which could cause frustration in others (mainly peers), and we’re both put under at least some pressure to be more “lady-like”. There’s other similarities too, but they’re either not as significant or I couldn’t find as much quotes to support them.…
The archetype of the hero or heroine in the story is Katniss, a brave sixteen-year old girl who offers to take the place of her sister in the annual Hunger Games. She displays remarkable courage in the face of fear and is firmly faithful. Katniss finds herself and her self-identity throughout the story.…
In the beginning, Katniss was just a girl from the Seam, willing to do whatever was necessary to keep her family alive and well. She was civilized, albeit rough around the edges. When she went to the Capital, she became what society would think of as a girl, with the dresses, and the makeup and the hair done well, using utensils neatly and being totally normal. She was a member of society by all accounts. As her time in the arena drew closer, she became more accustomed to the Capital and its ways, she became softer, more adapted to the comfort of the Capital, with its rich food and lush quarters.…

So far, throughout the book my favourite character has been Katniss because all of the characteristic’s she possess and I can relate to her. She is said to be sixteen years old, quite, independent, caring, determined, talented, and fierce. She has lived a hard life in district 12 of Panem, from losing her father in a mining accident to having to care for her mother and sister. She shows how caring she is throughout the book by volunteering to take Prim’s place as a tribute, but also how fierce she is by shooting an arrow through an apple out of the gamemaker’s meal in order to prove herself. She demonstrates her independence by being the head of her family and her determination by her devotion to win the Hunger Games. However, her main characteristic is being extremely talented at hunting with a bow and arrow, which is what gives her a fighting chance at survival. I can relate to her by also being sixteen, quiet, independent and determined. Just like Katniss, once I…
Katniss has green eyes and brown hair. She usually wears her hair braided down to the side. She specializes in Archery. 2. Protagonist: for the protagonist I pick Meredith Grey from the greys anatomy television series.…
I am similar to the character in the book because I also carry things around with me. The things I carry drastically differ from what he carries due to laws, point of view and the situation though.…
Katniss faced much adversity in her life from her father dying in a mine accident, her having to find food so her and her sister did not starve, and her taking the place of her sister when she is picked to take place in the hunger games. This relates to a lot of people because we face challenges in everyday life, but like Katniss we must be able to overcome these challenges and make the best of it. Katniss also showed a lot of bravery by taking the places of her sister in The Hunger Games this act of bravery is something that many people would not do. If you want to be brave in your life you must be able to sacrifice yourself for another person this is another reason why I believe this book related to so many people.…
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” (Charles Darwin) This quote relates not only to books written in 1954 but also movies in 2012. The book Lord of the Flies by William Golding follows a group of English boys that survived a plane crash, landing on a deserted island. They are fighting for survival, living through many challenges such as hunting for their food, finding shelter, and signaling for help. Lord of the Flies is similar to the movie The Hunger Games, this movie follows Katniss Everdeen who took her sister's place in the Hunger Games. She quickly adapted to the training that followed the reaping of tributes but struggled with being social,…
It is good to travel. Traveling is instructive, and it is also teaching us about other cultures. That is the best way to learn about people, their way of living, their cultures, and their past history. In fact, Wahoo Bay Beach is very an attractive place to visit. Anybody who likes to travel should plan to visit one day.…
