Similarities Between The Maze Runner And Thomas
I read the book The Maze Runner by James Dashner,a book in which many teenagers are stuck in a maze and must survive in a harsh environment until a way out is discovered, and the main character in this book Thomas had many similarities and differences to me. The main character Thomas is a similar age, height, and hair color to me, and this is just one of the many similarities to me.Our similarities, while in different context, have similar outcomes based on our actions.Similarly our differences often are just a different approach to solving a similar problem.Thomas and I have the same goals and motivations, but have different ways of going about achieving these goals. There are many books that share similar concepts, such as similar archetypal symbolism, journeys, or even the same types of characters. One great example of this is Steinbeck’s Of Mice And Men and Fellini’s La Strada. When compared they have seem to have a lot in common, from their similar character types to the over all journeys that take place in both of these great stories.…

The main characters are parallels to each other. For example, when Melinda and Cady start out in in highschool, they enter having no ideas what to expect. “My first class is biology. I can’t find it and I get my first demerit.” (Anderson 6). In the Mean Girls movie, Cady asked where her health class was and her friends made her miss her entire class. Another example is how they favourite one class and excel in it. For Cady shes so good at math that in Junior year, she takes senior AP trig. Melinda also favours art “Art follows lunch like a dream follows a nightmare.” (9). One final similarity is that they enter high school with no friends. On the first day of school, Cady gets denied seats in her first class because people didn’t want her to sit near them. When Melinda goes to school on the first day of school she has a hard time finding a seat on the bleachers because all of her friends abandoned her “I am an outcast. There is no point looking for my ex-friends.” (4).…

In the book the maze runner thomas is sent up into the glade and is confused as to why the inhabitants have been there so long and haven't found a way out yet. Thomas then goes into the maze, against the rules of the glade and galley. He goes out there because he believes there is a way out and there is hope. And that is a huge similarity between the two stories because Equality 7-2521 escapes his home with the brotherhood of equality to be with his true love and for him to be able to go and learn, and be unique, and different, and be able to express…

For example Kate and Kat were similar as their both independent and intelligent individuals who go by their own morals and don't care what anyone else thinks of them. For example, in The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, and The Giver, the characters are alike because they show paranoia because they were second guessing their peers, they acting like leaders to their community, and also because they want to protect themselves so that nothing bad happens to them, or their loved ones. Both of these texts proves that just because the plot or structure of the story is completely different, it does not mean that the characters have to be different. In fact, it shows that the books are very alike, and they are also very relatable. The characters truly show that they are dependable, trustworthy, and brave to their…

One similarity is when Dave had cancer and Jill had a harmful brain tumor. Dave could no longer pull the sled because of this so it made his life different. Jane’s life would be different now that she had to take care of her very ill daughter. Another similarity is that John Thornton helped Buck get through life when he was hurt and friends and family helped my grandmother to get through this tough time in her life. The final similarity between my grandmother and buck, although there is probably many more, is when the wolves on Charles’ and Mercedes’ team all died and when my grandmother was told that her nine year-old daughter only had six months to a year to live.…
