NISG). these networks also branch out to many other networks and communities to help educate as many individuals on the importance and benefits slow food has to offer.
The founders of Slow Food wanted to counteract the spread of fastfood, and it’s connotative meanings and/or values. They were concerned that McDonald’s would threaten the traditional Italian osteria and trattorias that serve local specialties and supported local fresh food providers. Slow Food organizations stand on 3 prerequisites for quality food; Good, Clean, and
Fair food. This movement has helped keep the Italian (Mediterranean) diet healthy, along with help provide local farmers and their families strive to provide the best quality products.
