Snoop Dogg was born Cordozar Braudus. In 1971, Varnell and Beverly Varnado gave birth to who would later become the arguably greatest hip-hop artist. Snoop met one of his idols, Dr. Dre, through his friend, Warren Snoop. Snoop Dogg was under the tutelage of Dr. Dre as a hip hop artist, and helped encourage the beginning of Snoop Dogg’s career.

Snoop Dogg is confident that all his songs are provocative, yet his favorite song is said to be “Doggy Dogg World”, from the album Doggystyle. “Doggy Dogg World” exemplifies the reality of violence in this world. Meaning “dog eat dog world,” Snoop Dogg tells us that not everyone is nice and sweet, and that the world might stay like that, and how we can prepare for it. Though it may be inappropriate for younger listeners, it exemplifies the reality of the outside world.
Dre was a very inspirational role model to Snoop Dogg. Having met him at a young age, Snoop Dogg was amazed at his work. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg also made a production together. This was called, “Nuthin but a ‘G’ Thang.” This song introduced the world to G-funk, which incorporated musical samples and melodies from funk with gangsta rap. Gangsta Rap was “founded” by Dr. Dre, and often refers to gang related violence, which Snoop Dogg was against,
