Soccer Uniform History

Soccer has affected so much in America, such as the athletes, the fashion, and the soccer ball. The athletes that play soccer are very different then what they used to be. Now all of them are popular and are sponsored. The uniforms the players wear are so different than what they were in the 90’s. The soccer ball is causing more and more problems.
Athletes that play soccer are very different now than they used to be. According to “Comparing Modern Players to Players of Past Generations” says that players now of days are more fit than players in the past. Because of that the defenders were easy when going into challenges with their opponents. A reason this is, is because modern day soccer is way more difficult. Now all athletes are getting personal trainers who tell them what to eat, what to do, and that train them to become better players. Meanwhile back in the 1950’s players had to work by themselves to get better.
According to “ The Evolution of the Soccer Uniform” says that in the 1848 players would just wear a white shirt, long trousers, and colorful hats or scarves to distinguish between the competing teams. It wasn't until around 1870 that the public demanded that the teams would wear clothing that was more like uniforms. It wasn’t until the mid 1900’s the fabric of the uniforms was athletic fabric that was lighter and more breathable. Then by the 1960’s soccer uniforms really began to resemble the athletic apparel seen on the field today. Over the next couple of decades, jerseys became more and more commercialized as teams sold replicas of signature jerseys from notable players.
