There is a vast majority of working internet users who say it is “very important” to do their job. Email and the internet are deemed the most important communications and internet tools among online workers. Land line phones, cell devices, and social networking come in close behind in percentage. All of this is a distraction. As of 2014, 47 percent of workers confess their biggest problem with meetings is that people are not paying attention. A whole 71 percent of employees are doing something completely unrelated during a conference call. A study examines that men are more distractible than women. As many as 73 percent of the largest generation in the workforce are doing something else than making a conference call and 45 percent check their phones during in-person meetings. However you choose to perceive technology, it is not going away and there will be an increasing number of distractions. Distractions in the workplace get noticed by the lead of the company. The termination of employees has to come into play when distractions do. An employer does not want someone who is easily distracted.
