As a citizen, I feel that I am informed on world issues based on the media I access. I think that media has made some people biased. Their political views have been tainted because of who they follow or what they see on pages of the internet. Similar to product placement, somebody’s favorite Instagram account or Facebook page might hint towards certain types of political views and affects the “people you should follow” option. Once they follow them, they are immersing themselves into something they are not sure they believe in. It is only a belief that this is what they are supposed to think on politics. People may not be influenced as much at first but after times of seeing the same opinions over and over, they will begin to believe the opinions themselves. This was especially evident during the 2016 Presidential Race. 2016 was one of the first times in history where technology and political figure advertising was used the most. For example, Donald Trump used Twitter which gave him attention from all over the world. This led to memes which, I believe, led people to make fun of the Presidential Race. Because I only see the issues my social media provides, I do miss some other important things going on in the world. For example, a country could be bombed and I would not find out about this happening until days after. Things like the news on TV or newspapers seem to be drifting away from this time. They provided an overview of issues and without that, I feel there is only a fraction of the world that I am aware
