Social networking has many opinions pointing toward it. Some may say that it is a positive influence, while others think negatively. There are many directions to look at it. From my perspective, I believe social networks have only grown to cause many issues. When reading something rather than hearing it said aloud, problems arise because you can 't tell the tone of something said. Also, other issues deal with the fact that people can find out every detail of your daily life. There is very little privacy online, and you never known what you could be dealing with. It can become addictive, and a waste of time, causing issues with peoples work ethic. These are only a few of the numerous issues; however, they can impact a life majorly. In previous times, before internet was even invented, people were forced to talk more in person and be active, because talking on the computer wasn 't an option. As modern times evolved, more opportunities to be lazy were created. I believe social networking websites have begun to make work ethics slowly decrease, because more time is spent conversing on Facebook or Twitter, rather than finishing up homework, or doing yard work outside. "Facebook and Academic Performance," statically proves that students are frequently on social media sites have an average GPA of 3.06 while students who rarely use them have an average of 3.82. Also, the same website states that students who get on their social networking sites while trying to studying scored 20% lower on tests. Therefore, grades increase when the internet isn 't really available. When it comes to actually getting out of the house and doing work, procon.org states that about 40% of teenagers varying from eight to eight-teen years old spend 54 minutes of their day on social media sites. When teenagers receive a tweet or Facebook notification, they usually take about twenty to twenty-five minutes to return to the original task they were
