Introduction

Montego Bay is the second city of Jamaica. It is located in the parish of St.James. This parish is also the major tourism attraction of the country. I have been living in Montego Bay all my life and within this time I have notice the numerous children living on the on the street for specific reasons such as: Abandonment of children by parents after divorce or separation, Physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse, homelessness etc. I had an experience that led me to do this question for my SBA, “One day as I sat down town having a conversation with my friend, I had a drink in my hand which I was drinking, and out of nowhere came this little boy, he took the drink right out of my hand and run as fast as he could. The moment I saw him I knew he was one of those children living on the street so I did not even bother to curse I just kept calm.” Personally, I took this into consideration and believe that I could further my research on this issue.

Sometimes love can be extraordinary and at other times it can be deadly and horrific. Romeo and Juliet are a powerful examples of love. The saying "love is blind" is a possible metaphor to Romeo and Juliet, probably due to the fact that Romeo met Juliet just by looking around, romantic right. I will be arguing about time periods and how relationships work back then and today, how age affects decision making in love, and how cultures affect dating norms. Breaking up with someone is hard to get over with, but in Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet" love is everything to the people in the city, called "verona".…

The forces that contributed to the cultural makeup of early civilization varied amongst different cultures. Some of the forces that contributed to the makeup of early civilization would be geographical locations, demographic, agriculture, religion, culture/tradition, and the availability of natural resources. Civilizations develop when the environment of a region can support a large and productive population (Sayre, 2012 p. 2). For example, geography mainly contributed because it was a determining factor in what the culture would do such as farming and hunting for means of survival. But also in combination with this; religion would be one the most powerful contributor in early civilization, since it would determine on how the culture would live in specific geographical locations.…

The Taino (pronounced Tah-EE-no) were the first "American" Indigenous Peoples encountered by Christopher Columbus and other Europeans in the Caribbean Islands in 1492. The Taino are also the first Indigenous Peoples to be referred to as "Indians" (Indios) in the Western Hemisphere. The traditional territories of the Taino extended throughout the Greater Antilles, the Bahamas, and even the Southern tip of Florida. The word "Taino" means "good people" in their ancient language. A major part of their ancestral lineage comes from South America. These ancestors traveled up the islands of the Lesser Antilles and settled eventually in the islands of the Greater Antilles and the Bahamas. Another part of the ancestral Taino lineage comes from Central America and or Mexico. Taino culture was not entirely homogeneous but some of the most elaborate expressions of the culture was found in the Dominican Republic/Haiti and in Puerto Rico. While Taino people could generally communicate in a common language across the islands, there were some dialect differences. Descendants of these peoples still live throughout the Caribbean and beyond. The Taino were subsistence farmers growing food mainly for their own needs. Tainos in Hispaniola also blocked inland rivers to make artificial fish ponds. Yet, Tainos did not rely on field crops for all their food. The only domestic animal known to Tainos was a small dog which was fattened on maize meal and then eaten as a great delicacy. The simplest Tainos dish was ‘pepper pot’. Tainos feared to eat certain foods like; Mammy Apples which they believed were food for the souls of the dead. The Tainos also did pottery; dugout canoes were made with great skills without the aid of any metal tools. Some Tainos canoes were large enough to carry seventy or eighty people or a tonne of trading goods. The canoes made it possible for the Tainos to carry out some trade in cloth, tools, weapons, furniture, tobacco, certain fruits and…
