I enjoy working with children and families which I would gladly do if I qualify as a social worker. Hence this gave me an opportunity to have interest into therapeutic interventions. My course also taught me about different therapies available such as person-centred therapies, cognitive behavioural therapies and how important counselling skills can be within the social work profession.
During my placements at Great Ormond Hospital I worked with children suffering from chronic illness coming from different walks of life and dealing with families who had to care after these children on a daily basis. Giving me a broader spectrum of dealing with children who have different disabilities and how parents cope with both chronic illness and disabled children.
