It shows me that it is more than just helping people cope with issues. It is about connecting with them and being able to be there to be their shoulder to lean on. The patients count on you to help them make the right decision for their life when they do not know. I will need to have great problem-solving skills and be able to emotionally attach to them so I know how to treat their specific case.
Many clinical social workers work in private practice. In these settings, clinical social workers have administrative and record keeping tasks such as working with insurance companies to receive payment for their services. This showed me that I may not be traveling all the time and that it may not always be hands on stuff that I do every day. It also shows me that if I want to work by myself that there are options for me to work in a private practice. Or if I want to work with a group it shows me that I can work with
