The level of analysis for this approach is macro-level, and it asks core questions, such as: How is society held together? What are the major parts of society? How are these parts linked? Lastly, what does each part do to help society work? The social-conflict approach is a gender-conflict and race-conflict approach which asks: How does society divide a population? How do advantaged people protect their privileges? And, how do disadvantaged people challenge the system seeking change?
