He is greatly respected today for his ability to share his believe even though they were not allowed during his time. He believed that happiness was a part of life that everyone wished for. Socrates felt that most people that claimed to be wise, really didn’t know anything, including himself. Although he admitted that he was ignorant,he was still opened to knowledge that made him become one of the wisest men that ever lived. Because of his strong believes, he was sentenced to a brutal death. He was ordered to drink a cup of poison all because he was accused of refusing recognize the gods and corrupting the minds of the youth.
