I checked out this book titled Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen. I chose this book because I read a different book by Sarah Dessen and well the last book was good and somewhat interesting. But I also chose this book because a friend of mine recommended it to me and because this author writes good girl teen fiction books.
The author of this book is named Sarah Dessen and was born in Illinois on 1970. But grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and attended UNC-Chapel Hill. Sarah studied creative writing and graduated with a degree in English. Sarah is married, has a daughter, two dogs, and she enjoys gardening. A motion picture base don her first two books was released in July 2003 and it is entitled “How To Deal” Sarah’s first two books are tilled “Someone Like You” and “That Summer”. Her 10th novel tilled “What Happened To Goodbye” was published in May 2011. Five of Sarah’s books were chosen as ALA Best Books for Young Adults, and her book titled “The Truth About Forever” was voted a YALSA Teen Top Teen book; but Sarah is also one of New York Times best selling author.
What the author wants the reader to think about would be the message that runs through the book. Which would be the wrong choice of group of friends and the influence that they imply on you by making good or bad choices. In Halley’s case it would be her lack of choice towards her actions when being around her boyfriend. The theme that best fits this book would be Love because the main character which is named Halley falls in love with one of her friend’s best friends and she starts a good relationship with her boyfriend Macon but later on is warned to be carful with him
The main characters in Someone like You are Halley, Scarlett, and Macon. Halley is the most important character in this story because it’s written in her point of view. Scarlett is also important because she is Halley’s best
