1. PURPOSE: To define clearing, disassembling, cleaning, inspection, lubricating and reassembling procedures of the M4/M4A1 Carbine on a weekly basis
2. APPLICABILITY: 3rd Platoon, 3rd Squadron, Joint Communications Support Element
3. REFERENCES: Lubricate order (LO); STP 21-1-SMCT; TM 9-1005-319-10; and DA From 2404, Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet
4. RESPONSIBILITIES: Squad Leaders are responsible for ensuring the serviceability and cleanliness of their squads assigned M4/M4A1 carbine and the ability for their squad to pass inspection at any time by the platoon sergeant and arms room.
5. PROCEDURES: 1. All SM 's will clear and check, upon receipt, any and all weapons. This also applies prior to any disassembly. When clearing your weapon, ensure the weapon is on safe and verify the firing chamber is clear of any and all obstructions. Once cleared by SM, each person will utilize the battle buddy system to ensure the weapon(s) were properly cleared.
