I have done multiple projects and reports on different Hispanic countries and locations. I believe I contain the knowledge to understand what Hispanic people may be trying to communicate to me during interaction. I think I could relate to their culture and make them feel understood and at home if they were new to the United States. Both cultures celebrate Christmas and the New Years. In both cultures we give and receive presents. In America while we use the Christmas tree, in places like Barcelona they use pooping logs. They put googly eyes on the logs and give it stick legs. Then on Christmas they put presents under the log. The log has a blanket over it and the children lift it up to find the presents. They also celebrate some holidays that we don’t celebrate in America. Some of these holidays include Day of the Dead and Carnival. When celebrating day of the Dead they create a memorial for lost loved ones. They believe the spirits of the dead will return to visit them. This is not a sad time, but rather a happy one.
