Bullfighting

Shockingly Bullfighting is a huge tradition in Spain. Bullfighting has been going on in this country since 1726, the crazy man to try this was Francisco Romero. This tradition is very dangerous, just imagine a large and angry animal with horns running after you trying to kill you. I would personally never do it. Spanish-style bullfighting is called corrida de toros or la fiesta. In the traditional corrida, three matadores, each fight two bulls, each of which is between four and six years old and weighs no less than 1,014 Pounds. Each matador has six assistants, two picadores

One of the biggest things that stuck out to me was the converging of two different cultures. Like in the series video the piece “Pelea de Gallos (Fight of the Roosters) by Miguel Luciano (Puerto Rican, born 1972). Looking further into his work this piece is about how American advertising appropriates from other iconic characters in other cultures. It shows mainly two rooster mascots one from a major American brand (Kellogs) and another from one of Puerto Rico’s major poultry companies called Pollos Picu. Both are fighting and are bleeding, the Pollos Picu rooster is missing an eye even. While they’re fighting there’s a “saint” like image of the Colonial from one of America’s favorite fast food chains KFC feeding live chickens from a bucket…

Should people be allowed to keep pit bull dogs? Pit bull dogs seem to come up in many news topics, and it always seems to be bad news. Nine times out of ten when a dog is in the news it seems to be bad mouthing pit bulls, the news never shows the good side to the breed, which there are a lot of good things about the dogs. As a owner and someone who know many people who own the breed, I strongly disagree. Every breed has the potential to be aggressive and will at some point have at least one instance that another breed will do something bad. I was skeptical about the breed when I was first given the puppy, but now I would never trade her for the world.…

The Pit Bull breed of dog has a very bad reputation. This is because Pit Bulls are used as fighting dogs for some people’s amusement. Little do people know Pit Bulls are very good family dogs, and often called “The Nanny Dog”. I personally own three Pit Bulls, and have interviewed someone who does not own a pit bull. I have found a lot of information about this breed of dogs and everything points to one question. Although some individuals perceive pit bull dogs to have a bad reputation, many have found these animals to be wonderful house pets when treated with kindness and love.…

Pit Bulls are commonly recognized as wild, vicious and inherently dangerous animals, which is false. “Singling out a particular breed or type of dog has repeatedly been proven to be ineffective because breed alone is not predictive of whether a dog may pose a danger” (The HSUS). How can you look at any given dog or certain breed of dog and know whether it is dangerous, just by the way it looks? The answer to that question is, you can’t.…
