Speech about child soldiers Catchphrase: I am standing here today before all of you to answer one question and one question alone. Why should we care about how much child soldiers suffer every second that goes by and the price that they have to pay in order to survive. Introduction: I’m going to introduce to you, one of the bravest heroes of all times, one that actually made a difference for all the kids who are suffering in the battlefield and in the army.
Sam Childers was someone who used to take drugs until something changed his life and his ways. In 1998, he travelled to Sudan on a medical mission trip to help victims who were terrorized by Lord’s Resistance Army. He witnessed something horrible therefore he decided to act. Although he didn’t have a lot of money, he still managed to purchase 40 acres of land right in the war zone and build an orphanage that protects 300 children from the LRA.Thanks to his strength the children’s village is the home of 200 orphans but over 1000 kids found a home and have an education in the last 13 years. Body: Child soldiers are orphans, children who were sold or taken away from their villages and their families. Many are recruited by force and they follow orders under death threats. During a period of conflict, the LRA take advantage of the situation due to the fact that children were separated from their family and driven away from their homes. The children join since it’s their best chance to survive, escape from poverty or avenging their families deaths. 300 000 children as young as nine years old are involved in armed conflicts all around the globe. This problem is cruxial in
Africa, however they are also used in various Asian countries, parts of Latin America, Europe and Middle East. Not only children are dying in the battlefields they are also dying from hunger and diseases, in Uganda, there are 200 thousand kids who die each year from starvation and
