I bet you would be mad if the losers got a trophy to and you work hard and maybe they didn't. You would deserve a trophy for that the losers. You should be proud of yourself for being the best.
Even though you may deserve to get more you can learn life lessons for just that. Even though competitive sports is about participation it is all about how hard you work and how hard you try. If your team gets last in a tourney, that does not matter to you it matters how you think you did it how the whole team did. If you think you should get something for participating you should turn around and start over. You need to put some effort into some practices then you will get something but I don't know.

There might be a player that tries really hard, in contrast there could be a player that does not try at all, yet, both of those players are getting rewarded. Micah Nisley, a program director for leagues in Northeastern Tarrant county states, ´´ It is important to have a winner and a loser, but that should not be the main focus. The main focus should be learning how to play the sport, how to listen to a coach, and be part of a team.´´ This shows that being part of a team is not always about winning, Micah Nisley is showing that being part of a team, and listening to the coach is part of going to practice every day and working hard, Not every should be rewarded if they are not doing that. Not only do they send the wrong message but the money spent on participation trophies could be going to better…

What if everyone got a reward for everything they did in life, would it have any real value to the award? Participation trophies are being handed out to every young athlete without any true meaning, which is sending the wrong message to these young athletes. If every young athlete gets a trophy, the less meaning each trophy will show. Which also leads to the false belief behind each participation award. Many might disagree with me and think rewarding young athletes with participation trophies is beneficial to improving on skills, which can be correct but is it really worth wasting money from the team funds on something useless? According to "Trophies For All" policy, youth athletes are being awarded with participation trophies. Participation trophies shouldn't just be handed out, it should be earned.…

Though in my experience when i was given a trophy for participating in softball that made me think that i was good and i practiced and practiced so i was good and i felt good. Yet as the years proges the kids are rewarded for everything from behavior to actions. For example at a summer camp in Maryland gives awards every day-this “day” is just one hour long. The American Youth Soccer Organization gives out roughly 3500 trophies and awards every season. That right there tells you that kids are given and rewarded for things such as participating and to think that, that's only in two cases. There are other cases where children are not awarded a trophy but there parents may keep saying that they are so proud of you and your great at a sport when really you probably just sat there playing in the dirt.Sound familiar?.This will probably make you feel really good about yourself but have you ever stopped and thought do i really deserve this…

Not everyone should get a trophy for participation because it is teaching the kids that losing is so terrible that we can never let it happen. In the New York Times article ¨Do We Give Kids Too Many Trophies?¨ by Michael Gonchar says ¨If children always receive a trophy - regardless of effort or achievement - we're teaching that losing is so terrible that we can never let it happen.¨It also says that¨In study of Gold Medal Olympians, they said that a loss was key to their championships.¨ This shows that if we give kids trophies, then we are teaching kids the wrong lesson that losing is horrible even though losing is sometimes key to a victory. This makes it really hard for kids to…
