She led the French into Orleans leading them holding the French flag that had the French words Jesus and Mary on it.
The battle of Orleans was in a series of of decisive battles for the French. Joan could enter the city on the eastern side unopposed because a French sortie had the English distracted on the western side of the city. This allowed her to bring crucial supplies the the French soldiers that had already been sieging the city for a while. Joan led a passionate resistance, and continued to lead the French on to battles. On May, 7th Joan was struck by an arrow and she quickly bandaged her wound and continued to fight, the French won the battle on May 8th, and the French retreated from
Orleans.
Over the next five weeks Joan would still lead the French into battle winning battles over the English, and Reims, the traditional city for coronations was recaptured in July. the same month king Henry VII was crowned king with Joan kneeling at his feet. Joan never hurt or killed anyone instead she served as more of a morale boost for the soldiers carrying her banner instead of a weapon. She was leading another attack against the allies of the English the Bourguignon that was still occupying a part of France. The French lost the battle and Joan of Arc was captured and sold to the English. They tried her and she was convicted a heretic and a witch the English burned her at the stake on May 30, 1431.
