With the seventh installment of Star Wars coming this month I figured it would make a good topic. This video talks about a popular new conspiracy theory where the character Jar Jar Binks was supposed to become the Sith lord instead of Palpatine. It makes some very convincing points. The clumsy character seems to find his way into some very powerful positions. This might have happened due to control of the force. Clips from the video show him flicking his wrists and while talking to lead characters. These conversations happened at crucial times during the film, and they all ended in the sith’s favor. The creator of the video believes he is using Jedi mind trick to sway the plot in his favor. The creator…

There were many battles that took place during the war but the most remembered were the five major battles. Those battles are, The Battle of Marne (1914 and 1918), The Battle of Verdun (1916), The Battle of Ypres (1914, 1915, and 1917), The Battle of the Somme (1916), and The Battle of Cambrai (1917). In the article “ Star Wars: Rogue One” - “Will Disney’s spinoff survive the shadow of The Force Awakens”, asked Brandon Russell ? Last year this time scenes from the Force Awakens had given us a glimpse of excitement of what we were about to encounter in our next journey of featured films about the great Star Wars movies we loved. Japanese armies then tried a new fighting technique; hiding in dugouts, caves and underground, places that were difficult to find. The Japanese army also fought more inland than on the beaches. Although this battle was known as The Bloodiest Battle of the Pacific, the Japanese defeat was for sure from the start, Americans raised the flag in their victory. The U.S. taking over Iwo Jima was a key to the end of World War II.…

The well-known Star Spangled Banner elaborates on the land of the free, and the home of the brave - but why does this free land exist, and who are the brave? The United States Armed Forces are the federal military forces of the United States. They consist of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. This coalition was founded on June 14, 1755 and the current Minister of Defense is Ash Carter. There are also three general categories of military people; active duty, who are full-time soldiers and sailors, reserve & guard forces, who are individuals who work a civilian job but can be called to full-time military duty, and veterans and retirees, who are the past members of the military. Then there are also the millions of family…

The universal themes of Star Wars are relationship to machines, issues of friendship and obligation to other people around you, and control over your destiny. Darth Vader is an example of relationships to machines because he is more machine than man, as an antagonist in Star Wars. Star Wars also has an infinite amount of examples on the issues of friendships and people around you, with character relationships playing out. The case of Luke Skywalker can easily be seen to fit the destiny pattern. Luke is an orphan, uncertain of his place in the world and even of his own identity. He is cast adrift but is guided along his path by Ben and by Yoda, who share the wise elder counselor…

The featured display at the time of my visit was in the Betsy and William Lovett Gallery. The Royal Dish Collection by Ralph and Constance Wark was started in 1922. It has grown to over 700 pieces. The collection of early Meissen Porcelain is one of the 3 finest in the world. It includes various beautifully colored pieces, most trimmed in gold. There were collections of red stoneware, japanese and chinese inspired collections, and the most popular style is called "Tischenmuster" which means little table. I'm not a big porcelain fan but those pieces were…

    Coin Collecting

I have a unique hobby that some people find unusual. I collect coins. Coin collecting isn’t just getting a collection of the state quarters from your grandparents, it is much more. There can be many different ways that collectors get their coins. Coin collectors can find coins that are in circulation, metal detect in places for various coins, or simply buy coins. Circulation coins are coins that show wear from the public use. Coin collecting can be considered a “different” hobby. All my life, until I truly understood collecting coins, I thought it was weird. I saw strange people walking in the park with a metal detector looking for coins, and I often thought, why would anyone waste their time doing something that boring? I also heard of people spending millions of dollars on one coin, which seemed outrageous to me. I could buy so many video games with that money. Finding coins in circulation and keeping them didn’t seem as weird to me, so that’s how I started my coin collection. As I became more educated about collecting coins, I became even more interested in all the different ways to collect coins.…

As a child I did not know the value of saving but today I regret it big time. Even though inflation is a problem and the value of the dollar decreases over time, if I would had saved my money and invested it in assets that appreciate over time, I probably would had been a different person today. My position was to play and have fun, and my mom’s position was to learn how to save. My perception regarding value is that I spent my money on things that today are a thing of that past and not my present. Today I focus mostly on learning about assets, saving and investing.…
