Stargirl's Reaction To The Red Rock Game
1.The recent fanaticism about winning games showed that Stargirl didn’t change how she act because they started winning; she acted like it was a normal game like it wasn’t a big deal to lose and for the other team to win sometimes. However, the contrary was true for the MAHS students since they realized that they were winning they acted like losing and winning were a life and death matter.
2. Stargirl’s reaction to the Red Rock game was consistent with her other responses because she cheered to make everyone happy and if the other team, like Red Rock, was being annihilated she would feel like her cheering would make the other’s feel bad. Stargirl’s responses are consistent because she cheers to make everyone happy.
3. Leo had a bad feeling about Stargirl and “Hot Seat” because over time she lost her popularity due to her antics which made people either annoyed or mad at her. So, Leo’s bad feeling was that she was going to be asked mean questions and it was going to be public for everyone to see the results.

What Leo meant when he said that Stargirl was taking “Hot Seat” Literally was that she was acting like the flames on the seat were heating up the chair and making it hot. I think she acted that way because Kevin said that he wanted to put her on the hot seat so she literally acted like the seat was on fire.
5. Leo and Kevin felt bad about putting Stargirl on “Hot Seat” because the jury asked rude questions which would ruin a regular person which also continued the drama and the hate

    Rick Reilly Summary

Cheerleaders are athletes too. They practice just as much as everyone else, sometimes even more. They get hurt just like everyone else, but only more severely. In “Sis! Boom! Bah! Humbug!” Rick Reilly attempts to get people of his side of cheerleading as a sport or in his mind not a sport. He does not want girls cheering on the other athletes at sporting events when they could be in the event instead. Rick Reilly conveys his message through a sandwich of logos, pathos, logos statements; this was very effective in my eyes even if at points he turned the majority of readers away with sarcastic anecdotes, but he manages to bring most back through his use of assertions.…

Once Kara was diagnosed with an aggressive lymphoma, she had to go through chemotherapy. The chemotherapy caused her to lose her long and beautiful hair. Her new appearance frightened her children. Also they did not want her to come visit their school. Kara was embarrassed as well and kept up a picture of herself before the chemotherapy to ease her anger and embarrassment. Shipler adds even more emotional appeal by stating: “ In her eyes, the camera had caught a hint of laughter then. Now, against her gaunt face, they were fiercely bright, pleading, proud.” (177). This paragraph makes the readers feel alarmed, angry, and pity. The readers feel alarmed and slightly angry because the children that love Kara so greatly do not even want her to be seen at their school. The reader will also feel pity for Kara because after all she has gone through, her kids end up flinching at the sight of her. Shipler uses emotions very well in this paragraph to make it more…

When people told her she could do it, she tried even harder to prove them wrong. When her coach told her she wouldn’t become a championship pitcher, she tried even harder, just to prove him wrong. Jennie also thought positively when she was feeling nervous. “Okay Jennie. This is still a game.” (Finch 205). Jennie would say that to herself over and over again when her nerves got high at important games. She thought positive to overcome her doubts. Once you go to a basketball game, you will most defiantly have school pride. It’s one thing to go out and support your team just because it’s just that, you're team. It’s completely different when your school basketball team is really good, it is very exciting to watch the games, to say the least. A basketball game was the first Polk State function I had attended. Even though I knew not a single person in the stands I kept finding myself on my feet cheering on the team and booing the referees for bogus calls, I had school pride. I sat down in silence for a moment because I figured everyone in the stands was just starring at me and that the game had come to a screeching halt, the players and all. But I look around me and I am surrounded by cheering students, parents and teachers. Thats when I truly realized how much school pride there is a Polk State.…

Americans Versus Slavery Some families are divided over what to eat for dinner, but imagine a nation divided over its different perspectives on life. In the 1800's, when cupcakes were first invented, Americans were fighting over bigger things than what flavor cupcake they wanted. In other words, the whole American nation divided over one issue, slavery. During the Civil War, slavery changed many people's thoughts about others and the government. Ultimately, during the nineteenth century, slavery affected America in many ways; it changed Americans’ beliefs about education and unity, as well as made them want to consider treason.…

Basketball is a very aggressive, fun, and intense sport that I like to play. It was created by James Naismith in 1861. He also designed the first football helmet. The first basketball game was played in 1891 at what is now Springfield College. My favorite position to play in the game is defense. I love to play defense because it’s so fun to block the other team’s shots and also I like stealing the ball from them and then scoring a layup. I also like to play offense because it’s so exciting when I score points for my team. I like juking people, which means getting past them, and shooting three-pointers and doing all the fancy moves like behind the back, between the legs, crossovers, and the spin move.…

The room itself was soaked in nothing but Tilda’s wavering scent. Her favorite fragrance of Caron Poivre’s fine peppery heat infused with the undertone of a fine woodsy drawl. The only thing to drown out selected scent was the lit candles that had a jasmine fusion burning into the air making the atmosphere sultry and sensual. Tilda shifted her weight against the sofa, the split in her dress spreading further exposing her hip as it popped out at a tilt while she curled her legs with grace after kicking off her heels. She couldn’t help but run the edge of her fingertip along her rose tinted lips until her teeth bit down on her nail - it was almost suggestive as her eyes gleamed with pride melting fiercely.…
