Civil Engineering as a field had always fascinated me right from when I was in high school. My penchant for the profession then stems from the aesthetic and complexities of different structures, and also by the pivotal role of Civil Engineers in modernizing this world and its versatile nature since they are among the professionals that hold the aces to civilization. I took up a Bachelor’s Degree program in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Lagos, Nigeria in order to facilitate my dream and passion for providing efficient Civil Engineering services with respect to safe design and cost effectiveness. This dream has always kept the fire of determination and perseveration burning in me and has inspired me against obstacles and hurdles.
But as one goes on learning new things, one realizes that there are many more things one needs to learn to quench one’s thirst for knowledge. The water resources challenges currently facing Nigeria actually propelled me for a Postgraduate degree in Water and Wastewater Engineering or Water Management abroad. It will surely help me in satisfying my quest for knowledge and also aid in broadening my concept from the narrower confines of nationalism to internationalism in specialization of Water Resources Engineering and Management, which will enable me to contribute my quota to the United Nation Millennium Development Goal’s
