Statement of Purpose
I am writing this essay to state the reasons of my motivation for further studying and to reflect my future career plans as well as the motives behind the choice of The MA Program in Economics at Bogazici University.
I made an internship in Halkbank in 2008 and participated informative programs in Turkish Competition Authority and Undersecretariat of Treasury. In these trainings, I had the chance to know the working environment in these institutions and I have an impression that they do the same stuff everyday. I think that such a routine is not suitable for me. I know that I will have a kind of routine in academic life also but I think that working in an academic environment will be much more exciting because I can do research most of the time, learn many different topics and work in a variety of subject areas. Therefore, I have chosen to continue my education and pursue an academic career.
As you can see from my transcript, I took several statistics and econometrics classes and these classes attracted me to study econometrics deeply. Due to this reason, I studied about the econometric modelling of work accidents in Turkey in my seminar class. Especially, I want to expand my knowledge in econometrics and study econometric modelling. After preparing my seminar project, I began to be interested in labor economics and microeconomic issues. Besides econometrics, I want to deepen my knowledge in these topics also. The MA Program in Economics at Bogazici University is based on econometrics and microeconomics courses generally so I think that I can improve my abilities in my interest areas within the scope of this program.
I have been thought by very good lecturers at METU and I have taken a wide range of must and elective courses so I think that I have a strong background. Although my grades in the first and second year do not reflect this, I significantly increased my grades after the third year with hard work. By looking my strong background and the improvement of my performance I believe that I will be successful in the MA Program. I am a hard working and determined person and I believe that the MA Program of Bogazici University contribute my academic aims significantly.

My solid academic foundation I have laid in economics will definitely serve as a useful stepping stone leading me to an equally outstanding performance in my proposed degree program in Development Studies. While in undergraduate, I was most intrigued by such courses as Society & Culture, Government& Politics. and Economics of Good Governance. In learning those essential courses, I have not only developed a comprehensive perception of the fundamental principles of Development studies as an academic discipline but also, I prized this important opportunity as I discovered that it is the subject in which my true interest lies.…

    Why Study Economics?

Those who have never studied economics often feel that mysterious, inexplicable forces are shaping their lives, buffeting them like the bumpers in a pinball machine, determining whether or not they’ll be able to find a job, what their salary will be, whether they’ll be able to afford a home, and in what kind of neighborhood. If you’ve been one of those people, all that is about to change. After you learn economics, you may be surprised to find that you no longer toss out the business page of your local newspaper because it appears to be written in a foreign language. You may no longer lunge for the remote and change the channel the instant you hear “And now for news about the economy.... ” You may find yourself listening to economic reports with a critical ear, catching mistakes in logic, misleading statements, or out-and-out lies. When you master economics, you gain a sense of mastery over the world, and thus over your own life as well.…

Economics is my favourite subject since I was young. That’s why I chose Trade Economics as my major for my undergraduate study. From the history, we can see economics and free market changed human’s life and even behaviors, and none of these changes can come true without the economics. I think the MSc Economics and Strategy for Business programme at imperial business school will help me advance to the next stage of my studies. By studying at imperial, I can systematically and theoretically acquire up-to-date economics knowledge and enhance my skills to identify real life business issues, especially the economic scenarios encountered in the greater China area. More importantly, what I have been experienced and learned make me confident that I have the ability to meet the requirements of this program of Imperial College London and make my own contributions to it.…

I XXXX have successfully enrolled with XXXX, XXXX to pursue 2 years Diploma in Culinary Management in XXXXX Intake. I have decided to study in this area because when I started attending school, I was asked about what I wanted to be when I grew up and my answer always keep on changing ever since. I have always dreamed of being known of something important something that would make a difference in everyone's routine, even it meant a typical meal or a box of delicious cookies to cheer someone up. But most of all it had to be something that would defy my creativity and allow it to be boundless, In order that I would always feel passionate and enthusiastic about my work. All along culinary arts were present in my life, in myself. I always feel happy about my cooking and constantly try to improve and learn more about it. Today I can finally say for sure that my dream is to be a Chef and since my talent and satisfaction rely more on cooking desserts, I wish to become a Pastry Chef. I often feel motivated by Chefs like Gordon Ramsey, Harpal Singh Sokhi, Sanjeev Kumar, and Pastry Chef Bartolo Valastro, Jr. However, nowadays I aspire much more as I see myself in the future managing a bake shop or a restaurant worthy of rewards resembling the famous Michelin Star. I have chosen to study abroad because I believe that the English language is one of the most important means of communication in whichever industry and as a result I consider that it is the best option to reach out for national and especially international attention. Among all of the options offered, Ottawa, Canada seemed the most fitted to me. Canada is a world leader when it comes to education, its high academic standard and rigorous quality control ensured me of my future and career for a long term. A Canadian diploma or degree is recognized in the world. Living standards in Canada are also amongst the highest in the world. In spite of these high standard cost of education…
